I've had my Dimplex CS3311 Compact Electric Stove for about a week now and so far is has lived up to all of my expectations and then some. It is a great little heater which nicely heats up our 20x11 drafty upstairs playroom. It is small enough to be portable but seems very well put together and not at all flimsy. My kids love the 'fireplace' in the playroom too and it has been quite a conversation piece for them and their friends. It doesn't exactly look real but it is pretty close and with some of the mods mentioned in other reviews it could probably be made to look more realistic. I also purchased the WIN100 Heating & Cooling Programmable Outlet Thermostat at the same time to go with the Dimplex and it is also 5 stars. Shipping was so fast! We have a huge living room, and big house with high ceilings. Propane was to much money. We thought it might be nice to keep it toasty where we spend most of our time. Our living room is 30 by 14 by 10ft. high. We hung horse blankets over both doors, they do not really touch the ground, and are cotton. We keep our new little stove on a low setting with the flames going. Our forced air furnace is now only kept on 60, and hardely kicks on. Where we mostly are, the living room gets so hot we need to turn the dimplex off, and do so at night. It was exactly what we wanted. It is darling, the flames a very real also. The Dimplex 3311 Compact Electric Stove is quite realistic in appearance and the heater does as advertised. We use it in our sun room, which has no other heat source except what passes through the french doors from the kitchen. This stove adds to the atmosphere of the room like a real stove and the heat output is quite adequate for the room. The reviews persuaded me to try it and it is every bit as good as the reviews indicated.
The realism of the flame is amazing technology. They have developed a realistic looking fire that is surprising to see. We set a small batch of wood in a basket beside the stove, and this contributes to the illusion that it is a real wood burning stove. We are very pleased with this reasonably priced purchase.

First off, FAST delivery! Ordered on a Friday - delivered Monday. I bought this to warm up a lower level, good-sized den with three large windows in an older drafty house. I love it! I unboxed it, plugged it in and it really is as cozy as it looks! It warms up the large area nicely in a fairly short amount of time and adds a real ambiance to the room. I plan to get a second one to warm up my drafty kitchen and save some money on my gas bill. I can't speak to the cost but I won't be running it 24-7 and unlike my outrageous winter gas bills, I am on a budget plan for my electric. Bottom line, I would recommend this to anyone who has a room that they wish they had a fireplace in. Even if the heat isn't on, it just looks awesome!Customer Review: WE LOVE THIS!

I wish I had gotten one of these years ago. We have a 100-year-old home, our den is an addition put on in 1929, and is over an uninsulated crawl space. Needless to say, the room is cold all the time. This little compact electric stove heats the whole room in minutes and even creates ambiance. I don't know how they make the flames look so realistic, but they really do look authentic. I have always wanted a fireplace in the room, but have been put off by the cost and the size of the room, it's just too small to add a large fireplace. This has been a great, practical solution and has made a very long and cold winter almost fun. I look forward to sitting in the den, clicking the remote and starting a "fire". We love it!
