I purchased this vacuum to use on my hardwood floors and on my bathroom floors. It does a wonderful job. The pivoting floor brush makes it easy to get into corners and around tables, toilets and other areas I couldn't get to with my Dyson upright.
I have three HAIRY dogs and this vacuum picks the hair up with no problem. It is light, sturdy, powerful, and I love that it is bagless. I have to empty the cup a few times while I am vacuuming, but that is so easy to do - no problem.
The carpet attachment is not so great, especially on the dog hair. I still rely on my Dyson to do my carpets. I would not purchase this machine if it was going to be my only vacuum, but it does a fantastic job for what I bought it for.
Overall, I recommend this vacuum for hard surfaces. It's easy to carry up and down stairs and I love the way it looks, too!

This vacuum is everything that I was expecting. I agree with the other reviews that the tool attachment area is useless so I just keep the tools in the closet. I also agree that it does not work well on carpet, but I only have two small area rugs so that isn't a concern for me. With those two negatives said, I have nothing else bad to say about it. It sucks up all the hair (we have a keeshond with long, thick hair, and two long haired cats), and I have found the dirt container to be larger than I was expecting. I am able to vacuum the entire house before I have to empty it. It hasn't overheated, and I think the 20 foot cord is a good length. It is lightweight, and the floor tool is flat enough to fit under the couches. I love that I can adjust the suction with my thumb, and that it's on a continuum. It stores great. I recently bought the DirtDevil based on the reviews here.
Based on my 2-3 cleaning experiences with the little red devil I think and tend to agree with others that the devil lacks a little sucktion(?) power on wooden floors and tiles. I don't experience or percieve this as a being a major problem, I need to spend a little more time making sure my floor/tiles were properly vacuumed. I think it works very well on carpets. And, it's got both a floor and carpet nozzle.
It is a noisy little devil (really!), so I don't think it should be your choise if you prefer to vacuum while your children take a nap.
Overall, I highly recommend the DirtDevil though, because it does the job, I like the canister model and the small size and flexibility, and most importantly, the quality/price value for the DirtDevil is second to none.

I purchased this vacuum several months ago and I really love it. We have a new home with all hardwood floors or tile and it works beautifully. We have dark leather furniture and a new blonde puppy (our little Reilly) and it really picks up the fur she sheds!! I love the on/off switch being in the handle and it having several speeds/strengths of suction. So easy to use. Very light weight, great suction, easy to put together, easy to take apart to clean and the large wheels make it so smooth to pull around. Like many people, we have had many vacuums over the years and this one is a gem. I don't think it works super on my rugs, but I didn't expect that and it is adequate enough that I don't feel like lowering my rating for that. Just received my Turbo Vac and I am amazed at the vacuum power coming from such a small, well designed unit as this! I use it for all my floors hardwood and rug and have no complaints on it's useability and cleaning power not to mention the ease of 'dragging it around' room to room to clean. It's so light.
I like the way it looks! I like the way it performs! I like the way I can cart it around with ease! What else could there be??
I highly recommend this new Dirt Devil product to anyone looking for a less expensive way to do your daily vacuuming. All my freinds have already bought one so I decided to write this review to let you know what I think about it.
This is an excellent buy and value...!
