I love this vacuum. I have all hardwood floors and was using a broom for a while. I decided a vacuum would keep the dust down better. This was a great choice. It picks up everything I need it to pick up, empties easily and isn't so bulky to store.
I don't have a pet or young children living in the house, so I can't offer an opinion on how it picks pu pet hair, cheerios and such. :)
While I do agree with the reviewers who wish it had a longer cord, I'm still giving it 5-stars.

This is a nice, beautiful, and compact vacuum. The vacuum is actually glossy and shiny in case you are wondering about the picture. It comes with several useful attachments. The vacuum has a variable suction lever near the handle for your thumb to adjust, so you can change the suction power from low to high. The vacuum is bagless. The canister feature is easy to remove and empty. I got this vacuum for about $125.00 with free shipping, so I highly recommend this vacuum if you don't want to spend more.Customer Review: Great Vacuum for hardwoods

I got this vacuum based on reviews on this site. My home has hardwood floors throughout and this vacuum is great for them. I don't think that it would work well on pile carpeting. Suction power is strong and adjustable. Noise is moderate. Cleaning the waste container is very easy. They supply a brush to clean the filter, but a cleaning with compressed air now and again really helps to preserve the filter. I would recommend this vacuum to anyone with smooth floors.Customer Review: great for carpetless floors

The dirt devil non-turbo attachment head works great on my wood and slate floors. The turbo head is probably good with carpet(though my house is carpetless) The best features are the telescoping wand and retractable cord. Light weight enough to carry rather than roll when in tight spots. Variable suction power is a nice feature too. I recently purchased this product and I love it! I have wood laminate floors and short carpet in one room. I can use it for the entire house and it is light and easy to use. I also like that it doesn't need a bag. Just dump out the dirt into the trash, brush included for cleaning it! For the price, I feel I got a good deal! p.s. The hose is adjustable so my son can manage well and help out with the chores!
