The Dirt Devil BV2030 is a rechargeable broom that Sweeps and Vacuums in One Simple Step. The 9.6-volt broom vacuum sucks up dirt and debris from hardwood and other bare floors with ample power, eliminating any need for a dustpan or the accompanying bending over.
The cordless broom vacuum sucks up dirt through a 10-inch wide nozzle. Debris travels through a replaceable filter to collect in a dirt cup. The dirt cup removes from the broom vacuum with ease and is see-through for external fullness monitoring. A foot switch engages the broom vacuum's motor. To operate the broom vacuum, employ a standard sweeping movement. The broom vacuum is designed to tackle dry spills rather than puddles and soggy messes. Cordless in design, the vacuum eliminates tangled cords while providing endless range of movement. To recharge the unit, plug the unit into its adapter. I was surprised to see negative comments. I really like the broom vac.
I have 2 kids (1 & 3), a cat and hardwood floors. This vac has been great. I pick up cheerios, food crumbs, cat food, cat fur, etc. I sweep it into a pile and suction it up without any problems. I just used it to clean up the pine needles throughout the house from dragging out the christmas tree and it picked them all up without a problem, including a glass ornament that broke.
It's not as light as a regular broom but I would certainly not describe it as heavy or cumbersome. I like that it charges with just an adapter. This way I didn't have to mount it to the wall. It was partially charged when it arrived. I fully charged it that night and used it for 10 days, several times a day, before needing to recharge. I find the dirt container easy to empty and re-attach. I do wish broom bristles were a little longer so it would do corners/edges better but I have been able to use the suction to get those areas.
I highly recommend this broom vac. I'm glad I purchased for our house and I just bought another as a housewarming gift for friends.
