I've owned this hand vac for a couple of months now. I have a hoover windtunnel, that I love, but the hose doesn't suck up animal hair off furniture, and has too much suction to vacuum plush bathroom rugs. I read the reviews AFTER I had already purchased it, but had not received it yet. So needless to say, I was a little upset to read what others had to say. I expected to hate this little vacuum and to never use it. Well...I use it every other day! I love it!! I vacuum my furniture mainly, due to having pets (that have couch priviledges). It sucks up every hair. I tested it on the kitchen floor to see if it just pushed debris around like one of the other reviews claimed--False. I also have no problems wrapping the cord. I personally don't have a problem with the weight. Overall, I love this hand vac and highly, highly, recommend it!Customer Review: Very handy to have around the house

This is an excellent little vacuum cleaner. It doesn't weigh much, and while it's not as powerful as a floor vac, it does fine for small tasks. I've had mine for maybe 10-12 years, and it still works great... it has even outlasted my floor vac. Before this I had one of those cheap little dust busters, and this Dirt Devil is way better than that. I even use mine as kind of a shop vac at times, which isn't what it was meant for, I'm sure. I wrap the cord around the whole vacuum cleaner, and it's easy to use it quickly and put it back without leaving a cord disaster for the next person. For the price, I can't imagine that you'll find anything else this convenient, powerful, or durable. Mine will probably never break, but if it did, I'd get another one just like it.Customer Review: Good for stairs

I brought this Dirt Devil Ultra Power handheld vacuum a month ago and I was looking for something that would be easy to clean the stairs with carpet so I found this vacuum and its works great for stairs with carpets. The big vacuum is a pain in the neck because its heavy and awkward and the hose is not very long to reach for cleaning the stairs, so this small Dirt Devil hand vacuum works great and Its has a hose too for reaching tight corners and great for cleaning inside cars because its suck up dirts and animal hairs so strong. The cons about this vacuum is loud. The pros is small and light and has a bag instead of buying paper bags this bag reuse again. I've had my red devil for a list 5 years,and it just broke down and that using it about, I say between 5-7 times aday I don't need a dust pan no more just sweep and live the rest to your little devel,When I first got mine it was because of my chidren always spilling something always making a mess,and now I got to use it with my grandchildren. I realy say for mothers even daddy's out there get one or two. Because with husbands that loves sports there just as messy as the kids.GO ahead it's so small take on vacation with you , believe me you be glad you did.It sure worth the money.I have no idea how I did with out it,IT'S GREAT even my dog is messy.THANKS,YOU DIRT DEVIL!Customer Review: PERFECT FOR STAIRS!

If you have stairs, this tool is the ONLY way to clean them with ease and efficiency!!! Especially now that the Royal Dirt Devil ULTRA is equipped with the built in hose and attachment for edging! The long cord is always good for cleaning the stairs AND the car.
Also now that bedbugs are such a huge concern, its recommended that you VACCUUM YOUR MATTRESS regularly. And so this powerful hand vac is PERFECT for vaccuuming the matress (with the removeable replaceable vac bag, available at WalMart for $4)!
It packs a punch this little tool. And its so easy to handle and carry and use and store.
I'd NEVER be without one!!!
