I bought two of these pillows for a long car trip from NYC to Miami. I installed them a couple days before, and my girlfriend and I tested them out when we drive around town. She absolutely loves hers, while for me it wasn't terribly comfortable. This is due to the height of the back of my seat and it's position compared to my neck. She's 5'6" and I'm 6'2" so our heads are at very different levels by the headrest - my DogBones pillow was supporting more of my upper back instead of my neck.
We did make use of the second pillow - it makes a great lumbar support pillow, and my gf can't imagine going for a drive without it. Also, I tried it in a different car - w/ taller seats, and it was great. Overall, I think it's a great product but the position is really the deciding factor in whether or not it's comfortable and unfortunately that has a lot to do with the height of the user and the seat.

I got this based on the other reviewers claims of eliminating neck pain, etc... it's great for any occasion when sitting and looking forward are required, and a little string or a small bungee can keep it anchored in a useful place for a car ride, but it's just a bit too thick and firm for my neck when lying down... ends up putting pressure on my 6th or 7th vertebra... it might get better once it's a little more broken it. I would heartily recommend this pillow for anyone with neck discomfort on long car/plane trips, or anyone who just likes to sleep in the car.
