Customer Review: a little bit of work but well worth it

i am a cheapskate. I saw the "other" 5-window kits for (at least) twice the cost of this one, and all i had to do to save $10 was cut the film myself!
Yes this kit takes a little more work and planning, but really, you're trying to save money in the first place so why pay twice the cost for pre-cut?
Another advantage to cutting it myself is that not all the windows in my house are 3x5's, the windows upstairs are bigger, the windows downstairs are smaller. Less product waste meant that i was also able to insulate the skinny windows on the sides of my door as well.
This is the second year I have used this exact product and it worked GREAT last year, i expect it will work just as well this year.
I have had no problems with the tape, it stuck to the film and window frame just fine (make sure the window frame is the proper temp to begin with, CANNOT be cold) and also run the hairdryer and your thumb (or whatever) over the tape AFTER sticking the film to it to give it better adhesion. They provide PLENTY of tape, even if you do screw up. The tape held firm all winter and most of the spring, and it peeled off easily and did not take any of the paint with it when i did finally remove it.
I gave this product 5-stars because it did exactly what it claims to do, and it did it well, 2 years running.

I have used this product for years. It does stop drafts and money from being sucked out of the house. I have old a/c vents for a whole house a/c monster that stopped working years ago. I use window a/c units and space heaters for a 80% savings on heating and cooling. The film stops up the old vents preventing negative air flow from sucking the heat out of the house in the winter and preventing (or at least slowing down) heat infiltration in the summer. The house is still well ventilated for air flow. Give this as a house warming gift, buy and install some for a senior citizen, use it yourself. After reading the instructions completely and knowing I was not suppose to place this product on the painted surfaces or drywall, I must say it was the easiest and best solution to our problem!! I stuck the double stick tape directly to my aluminum frame all around the window. I used the blowdryer and got the film to a crystal clear state. Clean your windows inside first! The drafts coming through our bedroom windows are gone! I didn't have to get new window coverings to help with the drafts. The draft was the problem and now it is gone. My husband sleeps right next to the window and has thanked me every night.Customer Review: Huge difference.

We received the kit in the mail this afternoon, earlier than expected. My boyfriend tried it on one particularly drafty window in our bedroom and we were so amazed by the difference he is running around as I am typing doing the rest of our windows. At first glance you can't even tell it's on the window, and when you put your hand up to it, there is zero cold and all drafts are gone. I bought mounting tape, but I didn't need it. He's using the double sided tape that came with it and it seems to be working great.Customer Review: held up all winter

I tried this product because it was less expensive than other brands. I have nothing to compare it to in the sense I've never used the more expensive brands prior. But the directions were easy to follow, the tape and plastic stayed taut all winter, the breezes were alleviated, and my heating bills were half that of my neighbor in the adjacent apartment even though I didn't freeze. I'll use this brand again next year if it's still the best price.
