Tools and Hardware Reviews of Dundas Jafine CHK100ZW Heat Keeper Kit With 2 Clamps

Customer Review: Toasty warm!
Summary: 5 Stars

This device works great. Our laundry room was always quite chilly in the winter, what with the dryer vent letting in cold air, and it's on the north side of the house to boot. With the Heat Keeper, no more. This thing delivers as promised. It feels great when you're doing laundry in the winter now. Unlike some of the other comments, I think it provides just the right amount of humidity also, especially in the driest days of winter. (That may depend on where you live, though.) Furthermore, installation was a breeze. In fact, the one end fit right into the outside vent tightly; no clamp even necessary. For the end attached to the flexible vent pipe from the dryer, I just used the metal squeeze clamp I was already using, and so didn't bother with the plastic clamps included. Well worth the low price I paid.

Customer Review: Great Product Idea!
Summary: 5 Stars

I found out about this item from a friend of mine who used to rent houses out to people. My basement is not finished (yet), so i have no need to heat it. Only problem is that the cold air makes its way to the first floor of the house and makes the floor cold. So, this is the first winter we are using it. It does a great job of heating the basement and makes the first floor warmer than usual. Why heat your city when you can use that same heat to heat up your basement/house. Plus I love how you can take off the screen to clean it. Also, the lever to send the heat outside during the summer.

Customer Review: A wonderful idea.

This allows you to switch from venting your dryer outside in the summer to venting it inside for the heating season - with a fine screen lint trap for the inside outlet.

If you vent outside, you're throwing away moist warm air.

This is a dirt cheap way to save a little on your heating bill and get extra humidity in the air.

They're very easy to install. And once it's in it'll last for years.

You'll probably save enough to pay for it at least once a year.

Customer Review: I don't know why these aren't more popular . . .
Summary: 5 Stars

My washer and dryer are in the garage, so it's great to be able to capture the dryer's wasted heat during the winter. Additionally, this helps add some humidity to the house, which tends to be dry because we live in the desert. The screen on the heat keeper catches any lint that escapes the dryer filter.
I installed mine in about 10 minutes
The only down side is that the garage smells a little like laundry soap and dryer sheets, but I suppose that could be a plus for most garages.

Customer Review: warms the basement on laundry day in the winter
Summary: 5 Stars

Easy install. Laundry is in unheated basement and dryer venting is behind and routed up to just above ground level. I liked that it nearly instantly made the otherwise unheated room less chilly to restart a load of laundry and tidy up. The day I installed it the outside temperature was about 30 degrees F.
The moisture is a plus to combat dry winter air.
Also keeps some of the cold winter air from dropping back into the basement through the venting.
