Purchased this vac a month ago and love it! I use it daily to clean out my pellet stove and it's pretty quiet (for a vac!)and powerful and well constructed. Shipping was great it arrived fairly quickly! Like the fact the metal nozzle is curved a bit so that you can get into hard to reach areas! I didn't purchase add'l tools as I don't need it so why spend the extra money. I can't understand why some folks complained about noise level. Not so in my opinion! It's not a huge unit so you can easily place it in a corner out of site! I totally recommend this ash vac it makes my life a lot easier and avoids your hands from getting pretty dirty and sooty!

After two years of cleaning out our pellet stove with a regular shop vacuum, I decided to buy this according to all the reviews. It's the best purchase I ever made for a vacuum cleaner! It's amazing. There is NO dust when using, like there was with the regular shop vacuum. What's also so important to me, you don't have to empty it out after every use! My pellet stove has to be cleaned every 3 days. Thus far, I can go a month without cleaning the Cougar. As for noise, it's less than the regular shop vacuum I was using. I would reccommend this Cougar to anyone with a pellet stove. You won't be sorry.Customer Review: Works well for my pellet stove

I've been using this vacuum to clean my pellet stove for over a month and have been very pleased with the results. The suction is strong (although I'm sure that it would diminish if you had not properly installed the filters). Furthermore, the canister is large enough to hold quite a few ashes.
This vacuum makes quick work of what used to be a time consuming and messy chore.

The Cougar ash vacuum is exactly what we needed for our pellet stove. It is definitely not too loud as other reviewers have claimed. It also vacuums very easily and quickly. I was using my shop vac to clean out the pellet stove and the filter was constantly clogging up. I have used the Loveless ash vac several times now and it is very efficient. Quiet might be a bit of an overstatement but it gets the job done!
