We were going to buy the DC07, but decided the DC25 was worth the upgrade....boy, were we right!!!
The main clencher is the ease of using the attachment tools, with the DC25, you just extend the telescoping pole, and, voila! you're ready to go!{the DC07 requires plugging/unplugging to use the attachment tools} I found myself attacking every corner and groove with specks of dirt/cobwebs in it (LOVE this thing for cleaning the ac intake grates and the fins of our air filters!)...most of them without ever having to bend over.
Of course there is the fantastic suction, but then, you expect that from Dyson's reputation...it was disgusting what it got out of our carpet (we have no pets, no kids, and don't wear shoes in the house; I vacuum very regularly, anyways) the first time.
If you don't think you'll use the attachment/tools much, the cheaper models might work for you, but if you appreciate being able to easily attack the tiny corners and grooves no upright can fit into, you're probably dreaming of this model.
The "Ball" feature makes turning and getting into weird corners a breeze, although it may take some people a while to get used to; I've been using a swivel-head mop for years, so I'm used to the motion.
FYI, if you get those 20% off coupons from a certain store that sells stuff for Beds, Baths and, well, you know, that last "B"..you can try all the Dyson vacuums in the store, purchase your Dyson from them with a coupon (saving you $100 on this model!), not pay for shipping, and have the ease of returning/exchanging at a local store if you should have a problem.

This is by far the best vacuum I have ever used. I am even comparing it to a $2000 vacuum my mother once owned. The DC25 is amazingly maneuverable and is very lightweight. We are currently renting a small 1-bedroom apartment and this vacuum has been wonderful. I can actually get around all of the tight spaces and its thin design also allows access under parts of the couch and other furniture. The vacuum is also very easy to use, with limited knobs/buttons that are located in easily viewable locations...how many times have you used a new vacuum and couldn't even find the power switch? The extra tools are also easy to detach and use. I love that the handle turns into an extendable cleaning wand. The filter is also easily removable and after removal from the main unit (by a simple push button), another button pops up on the filter holder to drop open its bottom so you can easily empty with no mess. Many of the other bagless units I've used required manual removal of the lids, etc. before you could empty them and you just end up with dirty hands. Besides the vacuum's ease of use, its cyclone technology is unbelievable. It works much better than other vacuums. On its first use, it picked up so much junk from our carpet that I had to empty the filter holder three times! I also have a friend who owns one of these and they experienced the same thing even after having their carpets professionally steam cleaned. Overall, I couldn't have been happier when I threw my old vacuum away for this one. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, it's worth the money!Customer Review: FANTASTIC!!!!!

WOW, What a Vacuum!!! Incredible! A friend bought the DC25 Ball Animal and I tried it for fun one night at their house (I think they just wanted me to vacuum their floors - ha!) and thought, why not! I went for the DC25 Ball All Floor upright ball because I don't have pets but I do have two small children that track in a lot of dirt, etc. It goes from carpet to the kitchen floor without any problem at all. I read plenty of rave reviews before this purchase, too. Putting it together was a teensy tricky, but if you just look at the pictures on the directions and pay attention, you should have no problem at all.
It has a fairly narrow vacuuming area, which is a SUPER feature, so you can easily get between furniture if you have things placed close together.
Super easy to dump the gunk, too. Remove the container and with one simple push of a button, the bottom opens and you can empty the contents right into the garbage can! CLEAN HANDS! That was another HUGE selling feature for me. No more pulling out the filter, tapping the fine particles out of it and watching the dust fly all over the place.
I read several reviews that said they had to empty the filter twice when vacuuming their floors for the first time with their new DC25, but I guess I maybe vacuum more often than they did...I picked up plenty of gunk but it wasn't necessary to vacuum my floors twice the first go round.

We needed a new vacuum and wanted something lightweight and high quality. As I researched vacuums, I found that several brands were 25-30+ lbs., this is only 16 lbs! My kids are to the age where they can start to help with chores and this is a very easy vacuum for them to use. It pivots so easily around table legs, toys, etc. so you don't have to take the time to move everything.
The hand held hose is so easy to take out and use. There are 2 attachments that can click on. One is so cleverly designed that it has a brush feature that slides up and down over the hard plastic, so it is like having 2 attachments on one!
The bagless feature is great. The unit just pops off and you press a button and everything falls right into the trash. One thing I love is that the unit is clear so you can retreive something if you vacuumed it up by mistake. The only drawback I noticed is that the outside of the dust chamber does get a little dusty after letting the dirt out. I just wipe it down with a wet paper towel and pop it back on the vacuum.
With this vacuum you don't need to select a carpet height or anything. There is a single button which turns off the spinning brush which works great on hard wood floors. The brush does slide out so that you can clean it too.
My husband is a bit skeptical in that the whole vacuum is made of plastic. I think it works great and it is so cool looking! I love the ball design and how easy it is to use. I am so glad I got it!

We bought the DC25 as a replacement for our recently broken Shark Euro-Pro Dyson style cyclone vacuum. First off let me say that the Euro-Pro, given the price, was pretty amazing. It sucked out dirt that our old bag vacuum missed.
Now comes the Dyson. I had the same holy @#$* reaction using the Dyson and watching what it pulled out of the carpet versus the Shark. It was like going from black and white tv (old bagged vacuum) to color tv (Shark Euro-Pro) to HDTV (the Dyson). It is that amazing.
Pros:
-Much lighter than our old vacuum at about 16lbs.
-Suction power is tremendous.
-Quiet compared to other vacuums I've used, much less high pitched noise.
-Very "light" feeling on the carpet, doesn't take a lot of effort to push it around. (see cons)
-Cleans AMAZINGLY well...pulled very very fine particles of dust out of the carpet.
-Maneuvers extremely easily under cabinets/couch/etc.
-Very easy to empty the canister compared to our old canister vacuum.
-Easy to assemble.
-Easy to use attachments.
-5 year parts/labor warranty.
Cons:
-Very "light" feeling on the carpet...though this is not actually a problem, as you get used to the feel and realize it's working VERY well (see pros)
-Price of course...$500 for a vacuum that isn't made of metal (such as gold or titanium)? RIGHT!? Wait until you use it. Luckily we paid a good bit less than that as we bought it at our local Sam's Club.
