this tool came with my DC17, and for me, it seems to work just fine. I've only used it on my sofa, I don't have any stairs. And i thought my sofa was mostly free of dog hair, because it doesn't LOOK like there's much on it, but i filled the canister half full with hair and dust and who knows what else!! i haven't had a problem with the brushes not spinning. not once. I even used it on my loose back pillows and the little throw pillows, which are pretty soft. no problems. Lots of dust and dirt and hair sucked up!!Customer Review: Best tool for fur removal

I love this tool! It is the only thing that gets the cat fur off our furniture. After reading others' bad reviews I wondered if this was the same tool I have and love. I have used it for a year with no suction issues. Just make sure to take it apart periodically to clean it out or it will break. I bought a second one to replace ours that broke and this house became unbearably furry without it. It's a must have in our house.Customer Review: Dyson Mini Turbine Tool

Used on stairs and firm hard to get at places this tool is a knockout. I could not believe the amount of material it picked up.I have seen some of the negative comments and conclude the users are the problem by way of application or understanding how the tool works. Having said this the price is too high for this and all Dyson add ons given that the cleaner is a major investment in itself.Customer Review: Works Great

I got this as part of the DC 14 full kit vacuum. I read many reviews about the turbo head attachment, and wondered if it was worth the extra $30. It was. Most didn't like it, but I found it worked very well. No issues whatsoever. The brushes did not stop rotating, as some have experienced, and I applied a fair amount of pressure. It was particularly handy on the carpeted stairs.Customer Review: Amazing

This attachment is amazing! It quickly removes pet hair from furniture, bedding, drapes, stair treads, without harming fabrics or even slowing down its speed. I suspect anyone disappointed in the mini-turbine has diminished vacuum power in their machine due to clogged filters or other material, but I found the product itself to be flawless.
