I've had the Earlex HV3000 sprayer for about 10 months now, and used it for half a dozen projects. Short summary: It Works.
I've used it for making party decorations (giant cardboard computers) and painted plywood furniture for Burning Man. It made fast work of those projects. Haven't tried it for interior walls yet.
Some notes about it:
It stores nicely! the cord and tubes wrap up, and it sits tidily on its shelf when not in use.
Has a good long cord, and long air hose, which is convenient.
The air hose puts some pressure into the paint bottle, and the rest blowing out the front to "shape" the paint spray as it emerges.
They recommend filtering your paint, but so far I haven't done this.
You need to thin the paint a lot! Like 1/3 to 1/2. It seems strange at first, but it works.
And about clogging:
The tip can clog! I always run a lot of warm water through the system immediately after use. It still clogs a little. During use, I'll just flick away a bit of latex from the tip with my finger (I always plan to get covered in paint when I paint). Once I had to ream it out with a bit of copper wire. If you're an ear doctor, or have ears, you'll find it similar to fishing for ear wax. The nozzle has a conical interior leading to a pinhole. I filled the bottle with water, pulled the trigger, and poked around with the wire as small latex chunks got dislodged & expelled by the water spray. (It's low pressure, the air and water are not dangerous to your hands.)
So, like any tool, there's some finesse involved. Overall: works great! Good price! Totally happy with it.
