I got my Earthwise a couple of years ago, I had two old broken down gas mowers that I really got tired of having to have repaired and I'd always get such a headache from the smell of the gas while mowing. Gas prices were getting higher and I was also having a hard time pulling the start cord to get them underway.
I went to my local mom & pop hardware store and saw the Earthwise displayed there, it was a clean looking machine, used a rechargeable lithium ion battery and was rated to be able to mow my 1/4 acre backyard on one charge. I was reading the materials on it and found it was made in the USA, another thing I'd been looking for, which is another reason I love shopping at my local mom & pop hardware store, they carry American made products.
I spoke with the owner and told him to have it loaded up into my car, which was easily done by folding down the handle and it fit comfortably in the back of my Saturn Vue, without having to fold down the back seat.
I charged it up overnight and used it the next day, the key which allows you to start the mower is easy to install and much easier on my not so strong anymore hands than trying in vain to pull a cord on the old gas mowers I had.
It did a beautiful job at the setting of 2 inches, I got the backyard done in about an hour, with the mulch plug in place (rather mulch than clog up landfills with grass clippings).
I love not having to worry about cutting a cord and I love how easy it is to start, stop & hose clean after I've finished mowing my yard.
In fact, I love my mower so much that when my daughter's old gas machine broke down, I bought her one just like mine, her yard is smaller so she can mow twice on one charge and we're a happy 2 Earthwise 20 inch 24 Volt Cordless Electric owner family.
