Tools and Hardware Reviews of Eco-heater 602 High-Efficiency Electric Panel Whole-Room HeaterCustomer Review: compact, stable , and toasty Summary: 5 Stars
In a word...Hooray. Low energy consumption (400 watts), no tipping over, easy to install, nice toasty heat, this heater has many benefits. My home is heated by a centrally located fireplace (so I'm already a fan of radiant heat) and I use this heater to keep a bedroom warm. Installed this about 1 week ago and so far so good. As promised on the packaging, it really does only take 10 minutes to install.
The only downside is that the panel itself does get reasonably hot, it's true that it's safe enough that you can touch it and not get burnt, but you won't want too do that. I was going to install in a kids room, but had second thoughts after giving it a test run. Also it would have been great for the manufacturer to include information re: direct wire installation or use of a thermostat. ..but these are really minor points compared to having a great heat source that is safely out of the way, mounted to the wall, and efficient.
Customer Review: Morgan's Mommy Summary: 5 Stars
I was really skeptical of this prodcut, but intrigued enough to purchase, and I'm quite pleased! My daughter's room is right above the garage, and gets quite cold, even though it's "properly" heated and insulated. We installed the eco-heater 2 weeks ago, and it's working great. It's essentially a ceramic tile with a heating element in it somehow, and it works great in her small room (about 10x10). I painted it, so it really looks like part of her wall, which is a big plus for me.
One suggestion that was mentioned by another reviewer is to use a thermostat. We're using one, and it's keeping the room a perfect 72 through the night.
**Edited to add: We've now had this unit for a year, and it's still working great! The heat is really nice, it's like having radiant heat on the wall--a gentle warmth that's just enough to keep the room warm. Still highly recommended.
Customer Review: Great fit for my needs Summary: 5 Stars
This heater has been working great for me from the start. I needed a relatively small heater to keep a 150 sq ft room warm while still being pet friendly (won't burn anyone or outgas bird toxic fumes). So far I couldn't be much happier. This heater does take a few minutes to come up to temperature so that it can begin heating the room, and it also does take a bit longer, once warm, to heat the entire room compared to other space heaters its size. However the fact that the Eco-heater draws much less power, fits my pet requirements, and it is more space efficient (as it attaches to the wall) outweigh the few extra minutes I have to wait to be warm. Even that can be cheaply addressed if you buy a programmable outlet thermostat.
Customer Review: LOVE this--perfect for our needs. Summary: 5 Stars
We reside in an older home with forced furnace central heat throughout. Although the house is fairly energy efficient, there are a few rooms that seem a bit colder than others and this heater is perfect to fill those gaps. This heater works much like a radiator, with no noise, and with it only using 400 watts, it's cut down on our electric bills. We have bought several of these, and very pleased with them. One is maintaining a pleasant temperature in our converted 600 square foot basement, that is a kids playroom. This heater is NOT for those that want to use this as a sole means of heating a moderate to large area, but for a supplemental heating source, I have to recommend this one!
Customer Review: Eco Heater Summary: 5 Stars
I installed this heater last weekend. It was relatively easy to install even though it's slightly heavy (similar to shelving, etc). I have a 1200 SF house (2 floors) and I installed this on one of my living room walls (approx. 120 SF).
And while it hasn't gotten below about 30 degrees at night yet, the heater takes the edge off. I won't know how well it keeps up until later in the season but I am hopeful. I will probably need at least one more unit to heat the remainder of the downstairs.
I couldn't find many reviews but decided to give it a try and so far I'm pleased.
