Tools and Hardware Reviews of Eureka Enviro Hard-Surface Floor Steamer,313ACustomer Review: Love this Steamer! Makes the Job Much, Much Easier. Wish Replacement Pads weren't so $$$. Summary: 5 Stars
My house is 99% tile & concrete, so I dreaded cleaning day. Mopping took forever because I emptied out my mop bucket countless times during the course of cleaning my floors.
After researching several devices, I chose the Enviro Steam Cleaner because (1) it uses steam cleaning with no chemicals, (2) I don't have to continuously purchase replacement cleaning sheets/pads, and (3) it is light weight and is easy to move from room to room.
We've had the Enviro Steamer for about 3 months & use it regularly with distilled water. Mopping is now a breeze & not drudgery. For cleaning a dirty floor with no "stuck on" things, this mop does a fantastic job. For "stuck on" things, I place the steamer over the "stuck on" thing & let it sit for a little bit. I then have to scrape off the "stuck on" thing with a paper tower.
The Steamer comes with a measuring cup and a funnel and the instructions say to put in 2 cups before using the Steamer. I find that 2 cups are sufficient to clean my tile kitchen (approx 150sqft of exposed floor space).
The Enviro Steamer comes with 2 cleaning pads which are a heavy waffle cloth type material. At first you'll think they are plenty big, but once they are washed, they shrink. Follow the instructions and do not put them into your dryer. We machine wash the replacement pads and hang them to dry overnight.
My only complaint is that a replacement pad is $19.99, which I consider expensive for a simple piece of heavy cloth. A replacement pad could be made easily if the proper material can be found.
Overall, I am ecstatic about this steam mop and find that it does a great job on my tile & concrete floors. I have not tried it on hardwood floors, and will update once I do.
Customer Review: Inexpensive and worth every penny Summary: 5 Stars
I live in a converted warehouse loft and 90% of my floor space is old pine and maple hardwood flooring (sealed). Given that the amount of floor space is easily 1000+ sq. feet, mopping has been a huge chore and one that I don't enjoy doing - mostly because it never seems to really get the floor that clean and it seems to take forever.
After reading the reviews online and shopping around, I came across the Eureka 313A. It was well liked by the people who own it and use it, and at around $65, I couldn't say no. The 313A arrived within a few days, was well packaged and the assembly and instructions were simple and straightforward (seriously, if you can put water in a tea kettle, you can use the Eureka 313A). Within minutes of receiving the steamer, I was putting it to the test on the kitchen section of the floor (easily the area of the loft that gets the most traffic and builds up the most dirt). The 313A heats up quickly and does a FANTASTIC job of cleaning and the fact that it doesn't use ANY chemicals in the process makes the air I breathe safer and healthier. Remember the first time you used a Swiffer instead of a broom, and you were totally disgusted and amazed at how much garbage your broom was leaving behind?? Well, that's what using the Eureka instead of a mop was like - the floor was visibly cleaner than it had ever been with a mop, sanitized, didn't smell like any cleaning chemicals and had a nice, natural sheen. After steam cleaning all of the floors and leaving the house for a while, upon returning home and opening the door, the air in the apartment even smelled a little fresher, cleaner. You're going to be amazed (and probably pretty grossed out) by what this thing will pick up off your floors.
Customer Review: Best Steam Mop Ever Summary: 5 Stars
Love the Eureka Enviro-Steamer! I've tried several steam mops and this one is by far the best.
Area Cleaned
2000 square feet of natural stone (travertine)tile floors at Sheer Miracle Mineral Makeup. We manufacture an extensive line of all natural loose mineral makeup (foundation, finishing powder, bronzer, blush, eye shadow pigments) at our facility so our floors were a great test area for the Enviro-Steamer!
Pros
1. Gets SUPER hot so disinfects floor instantly (Most of the others say you need to leave it on one spot for 15 seconds to get a sanitizing effect).
2. Leaves floor just damp and the least wet of all models I've tried (my Bissell Green Steamer left puddles and huge streaks).
3. The cloths clip on the sides so you can use different cloths if you like (I like to use the yellow microfiber cloths I get at Costco - they work great!).
4. No sticky, STINKY over perfumed cleansing solution that leaves a residue and makes floors get dirty faster like the Swiffer Wet Mop.
5. Inexpensive and GREEN (uses only water so no costly cleansing solutions to refill).
Cons
1. Gets SUPER hot! (If you are leaving it for a few seconds to soften up a sticky mess (think dried grape juice or honey) and then step on that area with bare tootsies, it hurts! I suggest you wear shoes while steam mopping with the Enviro-Steamer!
Bottom Line
Great buy for the money. Got our floors squeaky clean and sanitized. Best hard floor steamer in a reasonable price range. Can't live without my Enviro Steamer now!

Customer Review: Eureka Steam Mop Review Summary: 5 Stars
I have 5 cats and 1 puppy in my house. I have all tile and laminate floors and spend much of my time cleaning them. I ordered the Eureka Steam Mop so I could use less chemicals and do a better job of cleaning. I got my new steam mop and had no trouble setting it up. It has a long handle which is great. The machine is light but not flimsy at all. I filled it for the first time and waited - it took about 7 minutes for me to see the steam start to come out. I first did my kitchen floor - I had first vacummed it with the swiffer sweeper - then mopped it with the swiffer wet - then I used the Eureka Enviro Steamer on it. Wow! On a floor I thought was clean, the Eureka pad was covered in dirt. No streaks and residue like the Swiffer leaves. Plus, a pet stain I had scrubbed with the wet swiffer several times, came up in seconds with the Eureka. I thought I was going to have to get down on my hands and knees to get that gook off the floor. The pad has tough ridges and must scrub the floor as it steams. Yay! I was able to do my whole kitchen before the Eureka needed re-filling. The floor was a little wet but did try rather quickly. It tried quicker than using a traditional mop. I re-filled and was able to do the hallway and living area with the next tank full. When a tile dried, I stepped on it and I could still feel the heat from the steamer there. I really felt for the first time that my floors were clean. It's easy to use -no strain on your back at all. I wish the resevoir held a little more water but then it might make the machine difficult to use. But 30 minutes on one tank would be great- my only wish. Other than that I loved this machine! A great buy and I'll save so much money not having to buy chemicals and swiffer products!
Customer Review: I got a great tip...don't judge how it steams the first or second go and unclip the cord from the clip to make it longer Summary: 5 Stars
I bought my Envirosteamer from a vac supply store and I was impressed that they said this was one of the best steamers when it also wasn't the most expensive.
Thankfully, the sales rep told me that the first mopping with the steamer is odd. The first time the water goes through the pipes, it goes through fast and so it leaves your floors wetter than it will after that and goes through the water faster. He said give it a trial run without judgement. I did this but wondered if I'd been sold a bill of goods because it did leave my floor wet that first time and it ran out of water faster.
The second time, it was totally different, and then from then on it cleaned perfectly, the water lasted for about a half hour, and my floors were left with steam not water and INCREDIBLY clean. Had he not said this, I wouldn't have tried it a second time. So I wanted to share that tip.
The other thing was the cord doesn't seem as long if you have the cord clipped at the top. If you tug on the cord it releases from that clip so it's longer. I didn't want an extension cord so this was important to me.
I still wish the cord was longer though but honestly none of the steamers I looked at had long cords.
I also wish the measuring cup to pout the water in was bigger. I use a measuring cup with a spot to pour in rather than refilling that small cup twice. Why did they make it so little?
I love this mop. I hate carpet but hate dust and dirt building up on my floors since I have pets who like to play in the yard and then play inside too so it's been a tough challenge to find anything to make my floors the way I wanted.
I have lots of tile and wood.
