Tools and Hardware Reviews of Eureka Enviro Hard-Surface Floor Steamer,313ACustomer Review: Great Mop Summary: 5 Stars
I decided to purchase a steam mop because I only have vinyl and laminate in my home and I was tired of using several different products and the amount of time and money I spent on trying to keep it clean. I read a lot of reviews online and decided to go with the Eureka 313A because of the swivel head, positive reviews and the constant steam vs. the competitors push-button for steam. I just received my package, which was surprisingly fast I thought. After using it I am happy with my purchase.
Positives:
1. It did not leave large amounts of water, which was something I was worried about. If the floor starts to become too wet, the pad is too wet and needs to be changed, problem solved. The floors were damp but not wet, it is steam so they will not be dry.
2. Long cord
3. Constant steam
4. No noise, I have a 3 month old and was very happy that it was silent.
5. Cleans the floor. Very surprised at how dirty the pad was after I used it.
6. Lightweight
7. Easy to maneuver
8. Does not leave water streaks on my laminate, makes them shiny!
Negatives
1. The handle is not extremely sturdy
2. I think the pads could be better but they do work. I saw a suggestion for using dish towels and I will try that.
3. The handle is kind of awkward and gets caught. The more I use it I will probably get the hang of it.
No product is going to be perfect, but for the price and the specific features I was looking for this is a winner.
Customer Review: Far better than the H20! Summary: 5 Stars
Anyone looking to by a steam mop needs to read the review By A. Chandler "ArtistAlana". It is comprehensive, like one you might find on Consumer reports. Thanks to her for writing it.
I owned the purple and white H2O with the triangular head for about one year before it started leaking profusely and quit steaming. Based on the above mentioned review I decided on the Eureka. Good decision!
1. The water tank is on the base, not on the stick so the weight does the work for you. You don't have to exert any downward pressure. It is extrremely sturdy, made of solid metal with a screw top metal lid designed to generate pressure, like one of those espresso machines. The H2O had a plastic tank with a plastic top which was very flimsy.
2. It gets so much hotter and generates so much more steam than the H2O, the floor truly does dry in minutes. With the H2O, the floor was as wet as with a mop and bucket and the grout of my tile floor would fill with water and take up to an hour to dry!
3. The cloth attaches with clips to the sides of the base, which means you can use any cloth you want to, not just the special one they make. The unit comes wtih two cloths, but they are a bit thick. A regular cotton kitchen towel seems to work a little better as it is thinner and allows more steam to penetrate at a higher temperature.
All in all, I am very pleased with the Eureka and would highly reccommend it.
Customer Review: I love this thing! Summary: 5 Stars
I just received my mop today but I already know I am going to love it as long as it works like it did today and I have NO reason to believe it won't do so for time to come.
Let's see.... the pads are great like others have said. It works JUST like other steam cleaning products I have been used but has been smartly reconfigured to work best on floors, go figure.
The handle is comfortable. The unit isn't heavy and is easy to push around on the floor. I didn't feel like I needed to scrub or put lots of pressure ever. Knowing it was coming I had purposely NOT cleaned many spills and just let them dry on the floor.
I have SIX kids so the floor was absolutely FILTHY when I opened the box, assembled the unit (that took all of about two minutes, really) and mopped. That poor pad was filthy by the time I was done and my floor was pretty.
Someone else complained that you need to hold the mop in one place for a full 15 seconds to sanitize... not true. The instructions say to hold 8 seconds but no more than 15. I have 12" tiles and used this in my combo kitchen/dining about 200+ sq ft. Took me under 15 mins to do the entire floor. Grout was never sealed after the home was built and I haven't had a chance to really clean it after moving in but I am definitely SOLD on this mop and can't imagine ever going back to another way of cleaning floors. I am happy I chose this over the Shark as it is much better made.... to last.
Customer Review: finally a clean floor!!! Summary: 5 Stars
I have a very messy laminate floor kitchen. I cook 3 meals a day for 3 guys and the floor is always a wreck. I am very chemical sensitive. I've tried the Method Imop system with their floor cleaner, which worked well with a lot of elbow grease for the first few months, but all summer my floor has been icky sticky. I got down and scrubbed it with vinegar finally, and my husband hated me! (He hates the smell of vinegar) So another few months of Imopping, and I am back to my sticky floor.
So I ordered this, super-saver free shipping. It arrived only 5 days after I placed the order. I vacuumed the floor (with the wonderful Hoover Portapower!) and set to work. The first batch of water I put in just flooded out and soaked the pad. So I tried again with a dry pad, and MAGIC! It cleaned a kitchen floor that hasn't been mopped in 7 days. Powered through all sorts of weird gummy stuff that I normally would have to scrape off with a plastic knife and then vacuum up. And I did it much more quickly than I ever could do with my regular microfiber mop.
And the floor was virtually dry when I was done, even in the bad humidity we are having today.
I love this thing! I am going to try to find a mountain of pads to buy, so I can use it every day, and throw them in with my kitchen wash each week. Can't wait to try it out in the family room to tackle the winter salt on the laminate floor that the guys bring in. I HATE housework, but this made it so easy!
Customer Review: It makes cleaning my floors so much easier. Summary: 5 Stars
After carefully researching many different brands, I decided to buy the Eureka Enviro. My entire first floor is tile and wood, and mopping was quite a chore. With the Enviro Steamer all I do is add water and go-no more slopping bucket of water to push around. I have a tendency to push down on the mop while mopping in the hopes of getting the floor as clean as possible. The steamer does such a good job I no longer do that (and my back is happier). It uses steam hot enough to clean the floor well and doesn't leave a "steam smell" I have noticed with other products. By the time I have finished one side of the house, the other side has dried. This is important for me as I have children who don't always pay attention to the wet floor when they come in and slip. The steamer's profile is low enough to fit under the kitchen cabinet overhang. Whenever there has been a stubborn spill, I just let the steamer sit for a few seconds, and that seems to work. However, with a small spot of dried ketchup I had to scrap it off. But, I imagine it would have been the same with my cloth mop.
The first time I used it, some water came through the pad onto the steam tray. But, it hasn't happened since. My only recommendation for improvement would be to lengthen the power cord. At it's current length, I have to either unplug and move it a few times or use an extension cord. That really is only a minor detail. Overall, I love this steamer!
