I have always spent the money on Kennmore's. I was brought up on the Sears brand, and have always been told that for appliances this was the "ONLY" brand. Well after have 2 Kenmore vacuums in the last 10 years, FAILED, I figured it was time to do some reasearch. I did the Consumer Reports reviews, the Consumer reviews on the web, I nervously bought a brand I was unfamilier with.
The Electrolux EL 7020B Oxy3 Ultra Canister Vacuum CANISTER Vacuum I bought is FANTASTIC! The suction on this little machine is awesome!! We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 teenagers, and a dirt driveway. Let me tell you, this little guy works great. We have medium pile carpet throughout the house, some wood and some linoleum. The attachments for the bare floors is larger than any I have ever used. It does a great job even in tight spaces like under the cabinets, right up against the kick plates, it get's ALL the dirt, dust and crumbs.
I would reccomend this machine to anyone looking for that vacuum that is reasonably priced, and gets the most bang for that buck. I'm a vacuum maniac when it comes to clean floors, and this machine does the job! Also, AMAZON.COM had the lowest price for this model!
The only CON I have is that, the bags are small and seem to fill up quick. But that just tells me how much stuff this vacuum is pulling outta my carpets!

Purchased thru Amazon in May 2010 and received it very quickly. On the first use, I said "The vacuum is quiet, efficient and a breeze to use. Our berber carpeting has never looked better even though we have three very hairy pets. We're very happy with the Electrolux so far!
By December 2010, we have abandoned this worthless pain in the butt. The power switch is poorly located, and the power is easily turned off during operation. The carpet/pile height adjustment is confusing and not very effective. The canister feels cheaply made. The top feels like it doesn't click properly when the bag has been changed. The sweeping attachment doesn't stay connected to the hose, and it's driven my husband and I insane to deal with this thing over and over. After spending $300-ish, we said "screw it" and bought an Oreck upright with an accessory canister separate. It was approximately $600 and feels like it will hold up longer than 6 months (unlike the Electrolux).
I am really regretting the purchase of the Electrolux without seeing the quality before I made the plunge. With the new Oreck, I did my research online and went in person to test and feel the quality of the new vacuum. Amazon may have had a bit better pricing on my exact model, but I didn't want to wait with dirty carpet for one more day. I've determined that with some high dollar items, it may be best for me to try in person before making an online purchase.

I have been using this machine for a while now and could not be more pleased with its performance. It runs quiet and has a lot of suction. After doing some extensive research on vacuums I decided on this unit. While there were some complaints about reliability, I went ahead and got a refurbished unit. Not only did I save some money, I figured that a repair of a failed componant and a second inspection would be benificial towards a more reliable machine. The vaccum looked like it had hardly been used with one little scratch on it.
The only thing that prevented me from giving it 5 stars was the fact that the power head is about as loud as the last upright I had and not as quiet as the canister. But the power head does clean remarkably well. We have 2 dogs and it gets the dog hair very well. The bags are small but that is just as well since all that nasty dirt does not sit in the vacuum too long. The bags are cheap and changing them is an easy task that takes just seconds.
I would recommend this vacuum to friends and family...it truly is a great cleaning machine!

Had a 30 year old Electrolux canister vac and loved it. It finally wore out so I purchased the Electrolux brand again. Love all the new features and it all works well except for the electrical connection when using the brush roll feature to vacuum carpets. When the hose is extended completely, the brush roll stops, when it's loosened, it runs again. My husband and I determined that the 3 prongs on the hose that attach to the canister become disconnected enough when the hose is taught to stop the flow of electricity to the brush roll. Hope this is an easy fix. We purchased the vac about a month ago and this problem was evident from day one. Electrolux is a good company and we hope they'll fix this minor problem or replace the vacuum.Customer Review: LOVE IT!!!

I own a cleaning business and hunted many many vacuums. This one has the BEST suction I have EVER come across!!!! It si absolutely AMAZING! The only downfall is the "floor brush" to attach does not work.. It worked when I first bought it, now it doesnt, this could just be something I am doing wrong (I hope).
But other than that this is my absolute favorite vacuum I have EVER used. Vacuum your carpet with a vacuum you THINK it amazing, then use this Electrolux right after and you can hear all of the firt it is sucking up! Absolutely amazing!
The only other downfall is that it is not bagless.
