I bought this clock as a birthday gift for my visually-impaired Mom. She loves it! She says that the numbers are nice and large for her to see without her glasses at night. The clock practically lights up the room. The only down side to this item is that there is no brightness control which really isn't a problem for my Mother, but may be for someone else. It also doesn't have a volume control for the alarm but my Mom says the alarm isn't so loud it'll scare you to death! :-) She loves the feature that allows the clock to set itself when plugged in and set to the proper time zone. So I definitely recommend this clock to anyone who can't really see their clock at night.Customer Review: Great Basic Alarm Clock

The clock operates very well; it auto-sets itself as soon as it is plugged in (or after the electricity comes back on after a power failure). It is easy to read - even from a distance; the alarm is easy to set and use. A major plus is that you can set the correct time in any time zone in North America including across Canada and in Alaska and Hawaii. The clock is not fancy but it does what an alarm clock is supposed to do: Display the correct time anywhere and operate well as an alarm device.Customer Review: Exactly what we were looking for ...

Needed a product to keep correct time in frequent power outages ... this does the job (even right out of the box.) Needed a product which would be easier to see at night (with aging eyes) ... this does the job (huge bright red numbers.) Needed a product with loud startling alarm sounds ... this does the job (well, maybe not quite so loud!)

I purchased this clock for my grandmother in law so she could see what time it was without her glasses, and at night. I like the big bright red display which makes it easy for her to see, and the instant set means no worry for her if the power goes out. Good value, well worth whatever price you pay. The clock's display is brighter than necessary. I had to place a grey colored self adhesive transparent plastic shield over the display. Otherwise the clock lives up to its advertisement.
