The Estwing Supreme 40oz Cross Peen Hammer (E6-40CP) makes a heavier rock hammer useful for tough, hard rock, extraction work. The head could be described as a stubby, fat rock hammer head. The tapered end is more blunted and steeper angeled than a rock pick. Where the tapered end of a rock pick is more useful for prying than extraction, this hammer's tapered end is useful for cracking rock and not for prying.
