Tools and Hardware Reviews of Eureka 5740A Litespeed Bagless Genesis Upright VacuumCustomer Review: This Is Coming From A Teen... Summary: 5 Stars
I'm the vacuumer in the family and before, I'd rather do ANYTHING besides vacuum.When our old Panasonic Bag Vac.(REALLY cruddy vac.) bit the dust, we went to amazon.com to look for a bagless and affordable vacuum. We found it in Eureka! ...I betcha my mom was happy she didn't have to fork over[so much]for a vac. NOISE LEVEL - I can talk over it without yelling..so fairly good. Think of it as a loud, but not irritating, humm. SUCTION - The main vacuum is great. The hose suction is lacking though and really flimsy. It snapped off a couple times, while I tried to get some cobwebs. You shouldn't expect the hose to do much, if at all. CORNERS - It does leave about 1cm of the corner unvacuumed...better than the Panasonic though. MOVABILITY - GREAT! I'm 100 pounds and this thing pratically glides even when set at the lowest level. CLEANING - The filter is difficult since dirt and dust can easily get into the tiny grooves. The dust cup is a breeze. It's like pouring a glass of lemonade, except itz not heavy. CONCLUSION - I will NEVER like vacuuming, but the Eureka has made it less of a chore. It's actually kinda fun now to watch the dust swirl around and see how much you can get. The Hepa Filter panel can get heated, but it's not burning. You can put your fingers on it, but keep away from lil kids. And it will leave your carpet so cushion-y! It pratically lifts up any bent over fibers AKA vacuum lines. Hope I help!
Customer Review: This vacuum is just full of it Summary: 5 Stars
Yes, after vacuuming my entire house with what could be the best reasonably priced vacuum, the dust cup is full of it! Dust, pet hair, my hair, and dirt, everything! I am just so confused as to why such an awesome vacuum can be so cheap! This is my second Eureka after my first one finally started to spark (after months of reeking of burnt rubber). So, in search of my next vacuum, I began to browse Amazon and all the reviews. After reading ashman2003's review, I just knew I had to buy this vacuum. It's everything that ashman2003 says.The vacuum is the most quiet vacuum I have ever known (my parents also had a Filter Queen or something). Now, it's definitely not silent, but it's not a roaring lion either. It does fluff up the carpet and by looking in the dust cup, I know the fluff is also clean. It's easy to assemble (as long as you have a Phillips screwdriver). It's even very easy to roll across my carpet and is surprising light in weight. There really isn't anything wrong to say about the vacuum, but you won't believe me, so I guess I can find one. It doesn't fit completely under my sofa, which is about a 7". But that's just me being lazy. If you're looking for a reasonably priced vacuum, this is very much worth the money. It costs the same as my Eureka Boss, but I prefer this vacuum hands down. Happy Vacuuming!
Customer Review: Makes vacuuming fun Summary: 5 Stars
I've never been much for housework, and until I moved out on my own, my parents were convinced I didn't know how to operate a vacuum. I just bought the Eureka Litespeed and I love it, it actually makes vacuuming enjoyable. I live in an apartment so who knows how long this carpet has been here and who has tromped on it, but this vacuum makes my carpet look almost new. It is so powerful, it sucked up enough cat hair to make a whole 'nother cat. It left nice clean vacuum "paths" in my carpet and actually got the worn down areas to stand up again and look fluffy. It's very easy to push, heavy enough to do the job but light enough to make it very easy. Emptying the dirt container is so easy and not messy at all thanks to the screw on cap. Also, I found the cord to be a plus, it's so long that I can do my entire living room, dining room and all the way down the hall with it plugged into the furthest outlet, no more stopping to change outlets. Some have commented on the wimpy hose, but I thought it worked just fine. All of the attachmnets have thier own handy place on the vacuum making everything easily accessible when you need them and compact and neat when you don't. And the price is great, take it from a poor college student, this vacuum is not only a good price, but you're also getting a great vacuum.
Customer Review: AN UNBELIEVABLE VACUUM FOR AN AMAZING PRICE!!!! Summary: 5 Stars
My husband and I just recently got married, and we received a Target gift card for our wedding.
The first thing my husband said we HAD to get was a vacuum. I have long hair, and we also have a dog, so needless to say there is a lot of shedding happening in our home!
I looked online at the reviews for the different vacuums Target sold, and this one looked by far the best without having to spend a fortune. We got it, and let me tell you - THIS VACUUM WAS AMAZING!!! It picked up EVERYTHING!!! EVEN ALL THE HAIR!!!
Like some of the other people have said, we were actually EMBARRASED at all the junk it picked up!!! Dust, hair, dirt, even small objects like popcorn seeds, and potato chips. After we did a once over in the livingroom I got on the floor and rubbed my hand over the carpet to see if I would pick up any hair with my hands, and know what? THERE WAS NO HAIR!!! It had picked up ALL THE HAIR IN THE CARPET!!!
We are so incrediably happy with this purchase. It was definitly worth the money. You don't need to spend hundreds of dollars on a vacuum to get the quality you want.
This vacuum will not dissapoint you. We are so excited about this vacuum that we are recommending it to other family and friends looking to buy a vacuum.
A+++ all the way!! :)
Customer Review: as good as it gets! Summary: 5 Stars
We have two very hairy cats,so a good vacuum is essential to us.Our Hoover(a 1995 low cost bread & butter model)has proved to be adequate and dependable;however,like all bag vacuums in this price range,there is considerable dust "blow by" exiting the machine when in use that simply reenters the room.It is also very loud! Therefore,I began to look for a machine that would be superior to my old one.While I was always partial to Hoovers,I discovered the Hoover bagless models only come in 15" widths(our vacuum was 13").While greater width is good for covering large open expanses,it is lousy for those areas where space is tight!I would much rather make one or two extra passes on an open area with a 13" machine than have a vacuum too wide for the narrow spots(ie;between sofa arm and wall).To my delight,I dicovered this Eureka model is available in both 15" AND 13"widths! Aside from this very important consideration,this Eureka excels in every way!It is relatively quiet,powerful,and seems solidly built.With it's hepa filter,no dust exits the machine.It is nearly effortless to push.A super long cord and a stair cleaning handhold are like icing on the cake.My search for the perfect upright ended here!!
