I would recommend this vacuum cleaner for use in small houses. I live in a two bedroom townhouse, and I needed to empty out the dust holder a few times, while doing the entire house. Its very easy to use, and comes with a very long cord. The setup instructions are also pretty simple. Its easy to carry around the house. This is the first vacuum cleaner I bought, but I have used other vacuum cleaners before, and I would recommend this over most cleaner. It does not overheat. However, be careful with any polythene or any sticky materials being sucked in. It heats very fast when that happens. The only problem I found with this cleaner is that when you the nozzle, you need to remove the tube from the sucking system below. Then, if the floor is not yet perfectly clean, you get dust being kicked up by the that system into the air. That is the only concern I have with this.
I am a student, and I don't heavily use a vacuum cleaner. Its more like an occasional use, and this is a very good vacuum cleaner for this price. I think it is quite tough to beat it at this price point.

The previous 1st review of this vacuum is absolutely wrong and is probably referring to a different model. 1st of all, this model DOES NOT have a Hepa filter. So there is no way the door holding the filter on could be coming loose, since it doesn't exist. 2nd of all, this vacuum is surprisingly very light. And is probably the lightest vaccuum of it's size. Lastly, as of this date, this model is brand new, and has only been on the market for a few weeks, so there is no way anyone could have had it for a few months. Also, to get service on a Eureka vacuum under the warranty, you only need to take it to a authorized repair shop. There are many of these in most major cities.
I have only had this vacuum a few weeks, but it works well. It seems to be constructed well, and will hopefully last longer then my previous Eureka, which only went for 1 year, but this one seems to be constructed better. I especially like the auto height adjustment feature, and the fact that this vaccum is light and easy to maneuver. In my opinion it is a good buy for the price.

I've been using my new LightSpeed for a few days now.
The good:
1. Cheap: great value.
2. Powerful (the suction provided by the 12 amp motor is confined to a 12-inch wide path, much more effective than my previous 12 amp machine's 16-inch path).
3. Easy to assemble, easy to use, all the tools needed for typical housecleaning if you have carpeting.
4. Lightweight.
5. Bagless, but there's a replaceable HEPA filter.
6. While you can't turn off the brush, the brush is lifted high off the floor whenever the handle is locked into the upright position. When the handle is released into normal use position, then the brush is automatically lowered to your choice of five carpet heights.
The bad:
1. Cheap: won't last long. Mostly plastic, included the thin molded hose and what the assembly screws screw into.
2. Noisy.
3. Not a good choice for hard surface floors. Exhausts out the front: blows dust and light dirt away before you can get to it.

My cousin recommended this product to me because she owns both a Dyson and this vacuum... and she likes this one better.
I have a long haired cat, a short haired terrier, a little girl who LOVES glitter, a two year old boy(enough said) and a husband who loves to garden. This vacuum picks up everything! It even picks up the glitter. It is light enough to carry around the house and there is this cool handle in the front so you can vacuum the stairs. It does equally well on hardwood floors, tile and carpet. Because the suction is so powerful,the only thing you must remember is that you have to empty the canister and shake out the filter frequently or else it will overheat and turn itself off. If you do that every few times you use it you should be ok. The canister does fill up quickly but that is because it really, really works.
I've had this machine for about a year now and it has not let me down.
