I had a Eureka upright bagless for 10 years previous to purchasing this model.
I'm very pleased with this vacuum. It really has suction. It does blow a lot of air from the front, but not to the extent that it blows around what you are trying to clean. I have a bird and it completely sucks up the seed and feathers from the carpet. I have a strength issue with my hands, but had no problem with assembling the product. A cordless screwdriver is a good thing to use. It is very lightweight and is practically self propelled. I've had no problem with clogging in the hose. I have a small apartment, so this works great for me. Good value for the price. My previous Eureka purchased ten years ago cost more than this one.

When I bought the Eureka 4700A Maxima Bagless Upright Vacuum (Is it me or are product names getting longer?), I was looking for a dust buster, but I found the price and features too good to resist.
I was expecting one of those low-powered vacuums that would get all clogged up and would have to be replaced after a very short period of time.
I was delighted to find that this vacuum has an enormous amount of suction power and feels self-propelled. It does a very thorough job at picking up all of the dirt on my hardwood floors and on my rugs.
The 4700A is loud, but not loud enough for me to be dissatisfied.

I bought this vacuum for myself with little expectation for it only to be absolutely amazed, this vacuum works wonders my room mate and I could instantly smell and see the difference in the floor after vacuuming. we have five cats so finding a vacuum that works good is a hard thing. I loved the vacuum so much that I proceeded to buy it for my mom who owns 12 rescued cats, she has spent hundreds of dollars on vacuums only to find this one only 60 dollars that outdoes all the rest, save your money don't buy all those expensive vacuums that don't work, buy this one its worth the moneyCustomer Review: a really excellent machine

I really love this little vacuum cleaner. I'm an artist and my studio is often covered with paper scraps and wood shavings. This vacuum picked up all the art debris (and a ton of dust I didn't even know was there) very easily. In addition to having excellent suction, it was simple to assemble and is quite lightweight for its size. As other folks have mentioned, this Eureka does have a front facing exhaust vent, but I haven't had any trouble with flying dust bunnies in either the carpeted or the tiled parts of my apartment. I had a $500 dyspon and this light weight miracle out manuvered and out cleaned it in EVERY way!! I wish I had found this before I had wasted all the money on the Dyson. Very light weight cleans my 2100 square foot home with ease. I would say the one drawback is it doesn't have a stair attachment for cleaning stairs but you can buy one for around $10 it is called the Power Paw so it is well worth it!! I think it works better on carpet than floors but since my house is mostly carpted it is a LIFESAVER for me!! Love this product!!
