Tools and Hardware Reviews of Euroflex Monster Floor Steam Cleaner Blue EZ1Customer Review: I'm in love.... Summary: 5 Stars
We moved into a house with lots of tile and wood, and after a year of avoiding cleaning my floors because of the time and effort involved and being embarrassed by the dirt on my feet and socks, I decided it was time to look for a solution. I started researching steam mops, largely because we have also started going green and it seemed the perfect solution. I started with the Shark, and the reviews were awful regarding the sturdiness of the handle. Then I looked at some of the cheaper models available in the big box stores, and again, reviews were not that great. Reviews were best for the Haan and the Monster, so I started focusing there. Coincidentally, my neighbor called to tell me that Big Lots had Sharks on sale and she was getting one for her daughter in law because she loved hers, did I want one? I said "no", but can I give yours a test run? Being a good neighbor, she said yes. I must tell you, I loved that stinking mop. It made my floors so clean and took a fraction of the time. I wavered between going ahead with the Shark (she'd had hers a year with no problems) and the Monster, but I found a good deal here on Amazon and opted to go with the Monster. I am so happy I did! The Monster is SOOOOOOOO much easier to push than the Shark. Also, the pad, hence cleaning surface, is much bigger. I also liked the steam jets for use around the toilet and shower alot. The psychological thrill I get about that super hot steam blasting my 2 boys toilet is significant.... The steam jets are also good for getting stuck items off. The aim takes a little practice, but a couple of blasts have been all I needed for most problem areas. Shark heats up much faster, but doesn't hold as much water or get as hot as the Monster. I wouldn't say that the handle is rock solid on the Monster, but all the reviews I've read on many sites seem to indicate that it's not nearly the problem it is with the Shark. I've only found one that said it actually broke whereas the Shark reviews I read complained consistently about it breaking. The Haan seems to be a good brand too, but I liked the look of the Monster better, so that's the direction I went. Honestly, if I'd never heard of the Monster and had only used the Shark, I would have been totally happy to use it over mopping. However, now that I've used both, I have to say the Monster beats the Shark hands down. I do not plan to use this on carpets as it does not seem to be a good solution. Why would I steam my carpets with no suction? Maybe it's a European thing. However, as a solution for hard surfaces, and in reference to my 2 kids, I yell from the mountaintops.....I LOVE THIS MONSTER!
Customer Review: Very happy with my purchase! Summary: 5 Stars
I'd been wanting to purchase a steam mop for over a year, and I finally plunked down the money for this one. I'm very pleased with it! I was amazed at the amount of dirt that it removed from my kitchen floor, especially. That floor is textured linoleum stick-on tiles that are supposed to look like slate. Anyway, dirt tends to get trapped in the grooves, and it's very hard to remove. I was a little worried that the high level of heat would ruin the adhesive and lift the tiles, but that hasn't happened after several moppings. I had even scrubbed that floor on hands and knees with a magic eraser about a week before I bought my Monster, and yet there was more dirt remaining than I thought possible. Now, I can even walk around barefoot and my feet stay clean. My other floors are made of ceramic tiles, laminate, and linoleum. It has cleaned all of them equally well. I was a little leery about using the Monster on the laminate floors, but I just put it on the lowest setting and they are spotless and no worse for the wear. It should be noted though, that my laminate floors are glueless, so your mileage may vary if yours are glued together. This mop is super easy to use and what's more, it's fun! I've never had such clean floors, period. And with relatively little effort! Even my six year old had to try it out. Picking up her toys is another matter, but who wouldn't want to try blasting a floor clean with this thing? I also like the trigger on the handle that sends out a blast of steam--it's nice to blast around the base of the toilets, under the fridge, in corners, etc. I feel like this mop will be pretty durable too--there doesn't seem to be a whole lot that could go wrong with it. After all, steam irons last forever (my mom still uses one she inherited from her mother, daily, because she sews) and this is basically an iron on a stick. Overall, just a great, chemical free way to get your home really clean.
Customer Review: So much better than the Shark!! Summary: 5 Stars
OMG. I love this mop. I had a shark that stopped working and decided after reading reviews to try this. I have oak floors and tile as well as two cats and a toddler. I routinely use a microfiber mop with a pH neutral cleaner and hit my floors with my Hoover floormate every couple of months. I would use the shark for quick cleanups but it never really seemed to do anything special. The first time I used the Euroflex I was shocked. My floors were not sticky and did not feel like they had any residue whatsoever. (Shark was no different than spraying water and pushing it around, plus it did not get hot and the floormate cleans the floors but it always seemed like they were still not perfect) The floor is actually hot after one pass with the Euroflex and even on the lowest setting my floors feel and look clean. I'm not saying that this will make your floors shiny (the shine on mine is no better or worse after using) but there is a significant difference in the "sticky" factor. Even my husband noticed the difference. I will say that my hand hurts after pushing it around the entire downstairs (the mop is on the heavy side and takes some muscle to slide over my hardwoods, although it glides effortlessly over the tile) but it still is a lot better than "pumping" the shark to give off steam. I guess this cleans so well d/t the high temperature of the water. Now I see why so many people think steam mops work so well. I'll be honest if this lasts a year I'll be thrilled and go right out and purchase another. After reading reviews I'm being extra careful not to be tough on the handle. I think this mop would be great for people with relatively clean floors. I can't say how well it works on stains, but it did noticeably clean up my grout (the shark never did that). For those of you that have had or have a shark this will blow you away. Hope this helps!
Customer Review: Works well! Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this steamer about 8 months ago. I does a good a job. I have a lot of hardwood floors, including in the kitchen and it cleans up the typical stuff around the stove, dishwasher and sink. Works well on hard surfaces like tile or laminate flooring. It does not clean the mortar on tile. Have not really tried it on carpet. On hardwood some effort is required as the damp pad tends have more resistance on wood than with tile or other surfaces. The steamer takes about 5 minutes to heat up.
I bought the Monster unit over others based on reviews and what appears to be better overall construction, except as noted below.
The handle on the unit I purchased broke in the middle this weekend. It was very difficult to keep the top and bottom parts screwes together tightly. I called the customer service number - 888-896-8786 - and they offered to send a new, redesigned handle. Apparently if the lower part of your handle is curved it is more prone to snapping in the middle. They explained they have had numerous complaints like mine. The new handle with instructions is suppose to arrive later this week, free of charge.
UPDATE: I received the new handle today, one week from the dat I call the distributor. Unlike the original handle which was curved and screwed together in the middle, the new handle is straight and is a telescoping "one piece" design. The metal used seems to be a little heavier as well. I tried it out briefly and the new design seems to overcome the problem with the original which was screwed together in the middle. The old one would become loose where it came together and eventually snapped from the back and forth movement and pressure. The new one does not become "loose" and doesn't flex. Much better. If you have the old handle and it hasn't broken yet do yourself a favor and call to get the new one.

The Monster Floor EZ1 Steam Mop and Floor Cleaner is a MUST in every household.
This steam mop is absolutely amazing! It delivers such an intense heat, but you are able to modify the temperature (as some types of floors, such as bamboo, can be damaged by too much heat). The tiles in my kitchen floor did not require more than level 3 (out of 4) and the water tank lasted for about 30 minutes!! There is no 'trigger' to press for the mop to produce steam (contrary to Bissell 1867-7 Steam Mop). Once you release the handle from its upright lock position it will begin to steam constantly until you lock the handle back upright. However, there is a trigger for additional spurts of steam in hard to reach areas (corners) or for sticky messes. The cords at 25 feet long is way longer than most kitchens need, but this comes really handy when steaming the carpets.
Even with a tank full of water the equipment is not heavy and glides smoothy over any surface (tile, hardwood, carpet...). Surfaces are dry in a matter of seconds after mopping a section (The Bissell 1867-7 Steam Mop left my floors soaking wet, took about 5 hours everything to dry). After just one quick use, my floors were sparkling clean.
This unit with pay for itself with all the cleaning solution that I won't have to buy ever again. I am incredibly happy with this purchase. I cannot recommend it enough.
