Tools and Hardware Reviews of Euroflex Monster Floor Steam Cleaner Blue EZ1

Customer Review: Lots of good but not best for my use
Summary: 4 Stars

I recently took up most the carpet in my house and replaced it with tile and hardwood floors. I hate carrying a mop and bucket around the house so I purchased this for my upstairs which is around 600 sq ft of tile and hardwood.

I first vacuum and then use this to get floors clean. It works well if the amount of dirt isn't too much but if there is mud or spills, it tends to just spread around the dirt around. The pad isn't the most absorbent and once it gets dirty - pretty quickly in my house - it then just pushes the dirt around. It comes with two pads for tile & hardwood floors (1 for carpet) and I have to change pads half way through to keep it from just spreading the dirt. I have two large dogs that sleep in the upstairs bedroom so the amount of mud and dirt in my house may be more than the expected use for this. I am going to look into the larger, bulky (yuck) steam cleaners since those are probably better for our use.

On the good side, this is light weight and easy to move around. It gets in corners and along walls well. I also really like that you can adjust the amount of steam - I use high for the tile and low for the hardwood floors. I am able to fill it up once for the ~600 sq ft area which is nice. I like using the hot steam to clean but I think it's not sufficient for my house. It does leave the floor slightly damp but no worse (maybe better) than my mop so it doesn't bother me. Some minor cons are that the hole you pour the water into is tiny so you tend to spill and it takes a good 5+ minutes to be ready but if you plan ahead that's not a big deal.

Customer Review: Durable and Cleans Better than expected!
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought the Monster several months ago. I used to pay for weekly housecleaning and was so frustrated that they never got my floors clean; I have over 500 sq. feet of mexican paver tiles. Fired the cleaners and use my Monster and I am so happy with the results. My floors are shiny now. The floor dries almost instantly and the pads do a great job at getting up the grime. My gripe is that this item should have come with more pads, because 2 doesn't do the job. I am buying some extra pads. The quality of the machine is good. I had trouble putting the handle on properly and called the 800 number. They were prompt at answering and walked me through it. I agree with the other reviewers that the design of the mop prevents me from cleaning all the way under the cabinet toe-kick. We have a walk-in shower done in travertine and I use the Monster in there too. It works really well on the natural stone. UPDATE: I have been using my Monster for over 1 year and here are my gripes: 1-None of the pads stick to the bottom anymore. I have been very careful about not putting in dryer, etc. I even cleaned the bottom with a soft bristle brush but they still don't stick properly. This is really annoying when the pad slips off with every back and forth of the mop. Ugh. Since the pads cost 10 to 12 dollars each, they should last forever and not just 18 months. 2-The green ready light quit working after a year. I think this is because the filler is right above it and if you spill, the lights get soaked. This is poor design.

Customer Review: better than a mop bucket
Summary: 4 Stars

just got this and very impressed with it, it actually has 4 levels of steam, they recommend using the lowest setting on all floors unless extremely dirty. it does virtually dry as soon as you pull back from what you just mopped i can watch it dry in seconds. although alot of people are complaining about the handle, i dont think its flimsy at but also the handle must have changed because mine does not looked curved as it does in these pictures. The only bad thing i see with this one is it does leave some streaks, but i think its because you need to change your pad often (i have a large tile area in kitchen, sunroom, hallway, and bathroom, and where i first started from no streaks, then they started showing up, not terribly bad, but I am also looking hard for them.(like my sister said"do you really think someone is going to walk into your house and say "Oh my god, you have streaks!!"lol I think you need to buy enough pads to keep changing them as you would rinse and ring your mop out, i am going to order 4 more pads. this is why i give it 4 stars. I have 3 children under the age 7, and trust me, it gets up sticky sucker slobber off the floor with little ease. I tried the shark before this one and it doesnt even hold a candle to the monster, it left my floor soaking wet. I read reviews on all steam mops and this one had the best reviews by far the only complaint was the handle. So go ahead buy it!!!

Customer Review: As well as expected - solid performance
Summary: 4 Stars

Pros:
1) cleans our tile better than mopping; I can walk around in socks and there is a noticeable difference now that we switched
2) don't have to purchase cleaning solution
3) don't really think it's "heavy"; my wife is 5'2" and 105 lbs and doesn't have any problems using it
4) longer than expected run time (even on full steam); our house is 3400 square feet and we can clean our master bedroom, breakfast nook, kitchen, large entry hallway, and another bathroom on one tank
5) stops steam quickly; when my two year old or dogs get close, you just lift it up and it stops immediately
6) floors dry quicker than mopping

Cons:
1) waiting a few minutes for it to heat up; usually we get it plugged in prior to vacuuming and it's always been ready
2) waiting 5 minutes between tank refills
3) carpet performance not as good as on tile, but still nice to have
4) would like a longer cord; purchased a 25' outdoor 14 gauge extension cord and plug into GFI's whenever possible
5) wish angle of jets on front of unit attached to trigger were pointed more at the floor.

We've been using this unit twice per week since the week between Christmas and New Years (7+ weeks) with no problems. I am going to order a second one for my dental practice and see how it holds up with employees banging it around.

Customer Review: Very Impressed
Summary: 4 Stars

I have been searching for a steam cleaner for months. I've gone through regular mops and swiffer's and have not gotten the cleanliness I wanted. Our floors are constantly dirty from kids and pets. I picked the Monter Steam Mop because of the high degree of steam it gives off and also for the carpet attachment.

I used it in the bathroom and kitchen and it got up all the stains that I usualy have to scrub with a mop and ammonia to get out. I didn't even have to go over the floor twice. I also shortened the handle and used it on our counter for the koolaid stains that seem to have made a permanent mark. The steamer made my counter literally look brand new.

I used it on the carpet and it wasn't too bad getting up loose dirt but, I will keep my Bissel Carpet Cleaner.

The only thing I didn't like was that the tank was too big to fit under the bottom of the cabinets but,I blew steam out the front of the tank and was able to losen those areas up enough to wipe up the dirt. For me it wasn't too much of a hassel.
There was access water that had to dry when I did the kitchen.

Overall I would recommend the Monster Floor EZ1 Steam Mop to anyone who would like a good Steam Mop.
