Customer Review: How to maintain sprayer....

I am very happy with this sprayer. The spray reaches almost every part of our two-holer kitchen sink. I was lucky to buy these when they were less than ten dollars and I got the 4 for 3 promotion which brought the price down to $7.50 each. I bought extras because I thought they would not last forever. However, after 3 years, I am still on the first sprayer. I found that the sprayer, especially if you have hard water, with time, gets harder and harder to swivel as well as switch from spray to stream and back again. I solved this by occasionally lubricating the two ball joints and the sprayer with a drop of olive oil to each. The sprayer should be in the spray position when you apply the drop of oil. In the spray position, the spray ball is pulled into the down position which opens up about a 1/4 inch space where the oil can be applied. Then by working the swivels and the sprayer you will find them working like new. I do not have problems with leaking but occasionally must re-tighten the two threaded connections on the sprayer. I found that this simple maintenance has increased the longevity of the unit and keeps it in tip-top working condition.
