This lock is of "VERY POOR" quality. I bought it for my Dell Inspiron. It fits easily into the slot, but I was able to pull it out with a short tug. It will give absolutely "NO" protection to your laptop. It has an extremely flimsy mechanism. There was a $6 shipping fee. You might as well take $12 and throw it in the garbage. I purchase this for a hardware device that I wanted to leave at work, but not have "borrowed" without my permission. Works fine, does the intended job. This and a company surveillance system is all I could ever need.

Did not fit my Compaq laptop. Was disappointed, but it fits a Dell laptop tough. The only thing is they dip the cable in a chemical to prevent rusting and does it smell bad!
