We purchased 5 of these; one for each bedroom, the family room, and an elderly neighbor's bedroom. Install was painless. It does, however, need to be mounted on a wall, not a ceiling, so we chose a spot over each bedroom door.
Carbon Monoxide MIXES with the air. It does not stay low or high. You can't see it or smell it. That's why it's so deadly.
The piece of mind of having these installed is enormous. More people die of CO poisoning than from fire. If you don't have a CO detector, get one, two, etc. The price is right.

We tested it on the truck's exhaust and it went off at about 60 ppm according to our digital CO Meter.
Which proves it works to Govenment Standards. This model does what it is supposed to do, the more expensive models just have more features that you probably will not notice on an everyday basis anyway.
This is the least expensive model we have seen that functions, so we hope at this price everyone should have one in their home and garage.
Please replace batteries regularly......

I ordered 2 of these because my local home improvement stores have been sold out since a recent scare in my area. They had plenty of more expensive combo models (CO/smoke, CO/heat, etc.) but all I wanted was this one. It is perfectly simple. Easy to install, easy to maintain and very economical. I assume it works because it hasn't gone off and I haven't woke up dead yet! The test button indicates it's working properly and the battery is easy to change.Customer Review: Easy & Efficient

I just received this monoxide alarm today and it was easy to setup, mount and use. Easily screws into the wall. Every home should have one! It is recommended to have one on each floor of your home, but definitely near sleeping quarters. I have been meaning to buy one for the longest and the price was right on this one. What else can I say, it gets the job done. I sleep more peacefully knowing that my home is carbon monoxide free.Customer Review: carbon monoxide detector

Haven't had to use it yet. It was delivered on time and packaged well.
I didn't have any problems with the transaction at all. I got it to use in my daughters car because she thought she may have a leak, due to the fact that whenever she drove, she became very tired. I guess if the alarm goes off, she will surely wake up, with as loud as they are!!
