Tools and Hardware Reviews of First Alert PIR720RN Motion Sensing Light SocketCustomer Review: Great for a Pantry or Closet! Summary: 5 Stars
We have a pantry in our kitchen. There is a light switch for it, however our furniture blocks the switch. It was always being left on. The motion sensor is dead simple to install. The only adjustment you may need to make is which direction the sensors point. This kind of device (like dimmers, motion sensors, and timers) all tend to go bad overtime. I expect that will eventually be the fate of this device based on the other reviews. Until then, we will save electricity and bulb costs.
Customer Review: Motion Sensing Light Socket Summary: 5 Stars
I have ordered this item the second time now from Amazon since it has proven itself the first time ordered. It does work in my cold garage which is not as cold as outside, but not heated. I recommend this item as being the best motion sensing devise I have used inside my home and thank Amazon for the cheaper price. If turned the correct way in the light socket with the arrows on top the instructions point out it works better if the arrow is pointing in the direction you walk into the area.
Customer Review: Perfect purchase Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased three of these for basement rooms that have only a pull string to turn them on. I easily installed each of the Motion Sensing Light Sockets and they work just like I was hoping they would and like I was told they would. The light goes on when I go into the room and stays on and goes off a few minutes after I leave the room. No more feeling around in the dark for the light string. I wish I would have found out about these a long time ago. They are great!!!
Customer Review: Works well with limitations Summary: 5 Stars
Originally bought this to work in a walk in closet/pantry off our laundry room. Worked great until summer when the temperature in the closet got too warm (no air conditioner duct)for the sensor to pick up the body heat of the moving person. Moved to basement work room because I got tired of finding the light had been left on for days from when I sent one of the kids down to get something out of the freezer. Has been working great in that location for 10 plus years.
Customer Review: Well-made Product - You'll Love It Summary: 5 Stars
Indispensable for use in garage. The old, dim, garage door opener's light never lasted long enough to bring in the groceries. We added a "Y" adapter and two halogen 40 watt bulbs to this motion sensing switch for a perfect solution for night and day garage lighting needs. The two halogen bulbs have a long and very bright life and the four minute sensor-timer preset is perfect. As a bonus, the kids don't need to be nagged to shut off the garage ceiling light.
