Description of First Alert SA710CN Smoke Alarm with Photoelectric Sensor
Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in a home fire by 50%, and that's important because a home fire starts every 83 seconds! The faster you know about a fire, the faster you can start moving your family outside. The First Alert smoke alarm with photoelectric sensor uses photoelectric sensing technology which is environmentally friendlier and which reduces nuisance alarms, making it ideal for cooking areas. It is also great for sensing slow smoldering fires quickly. It features a low battery alert to remind you when to change the battery and has a missing battery guard to ensure that a battery is placed inside the alarm. The side battery drawer slides open for easy battery replacement. A blinking power indicator on the unit confirms that it is receiving power. The silence/test button allows you to both silence a non-threatening alarm and to test the unit's functionality. The alarm contains an optional pin to lock the battery and unit in place for tamper resistance. It can be mounted on either the ceiling or the wall and can be used in mobile homes and RVs. Customer Review: Silence PB does not function

I produced small smoke from an incense and the device detected the smoke quickly. However, I can not stop the alarm sound by pressing the test/silence PB. The alarm continues. When the smoke is away, the alarm stops. The red LED continue blinking every 10 seconds indicating it is in the silence mode. However, I added again smock to the device, it starts alarm immediately.

I tested SA720CN. The silence PB does not work either.
If you buy this product because of the silence function, DO NOT BUY THIS.
