Purchased this smoke alarm for our laundry room. My wife has a habit of doing laundry at bed time. We also have a gas dryer, so I thought this combo unit would be the best. Middle of last month we woke up at 2 am to this alarm going off. Our dehumidifier caught on fire and had smoked the entire basement. After the fire department had contained the fire, I went and looked at the damage. We have lived there for 3 months and in that time all the other smoke detectors had quit working. Good price for this product.
It replaces an older unit from a different company that had died and refused to stop beeping regardless of the battery that was put in it.
I assume that if I do not die in my sleep from smoke inhalation or carbon monoxide poisoning, the unit works as it should.
If I do die in my sleep because it failed, I'll figure out how to update this review from the great beyond. Wish me luck!

I have ordered two of thees alarms, for Amazon, and am impressed with them. In preparation for this review I passed the smoke of two freshly extinguish matches under one, and it immediately responded. The alarm was loud, as a alarm should be, and continued until I pressed the test/silence button. No doubt it would have shut itself off given time but I wonted to test the silent feature out. It works well, and is worth the price.Customer Review: Very nice product

Nice product, easy to install seems to be working as described (at least first month or may be 6 weeks and only when I was checking the batteries, never went off as a real alarm). I bought 2 and found them to be couple bucks less expensive than similar model, that had a voice alarm, though, that I bought at Home Depot. Anyway, I can recommend it as a good buy for sure so far.Customer Review: Works Great

This was very easy to install. It looks sylish and looks great in the kitchen. It was easy to program the location for the voice alter. The remote control mute feature is great. We have set it off a few times when cooking and hit the mute button with ease. It even tells you the carbon monoxide level via the voice alert. Great product.
