Tools and Hardware Reviews of Thermwell DS2 3-Feet Draft Stop Cloth Seal, BeigeCustomer Review: Does its job. Summary: 5 Stars
Works great at stopping the draft from under a door. Much easier to use and keep in place than a rolled up rug or towel.
Customer Review: Good Product Summary: 5 Stars
A good product and worth the money. Fit just fine and blocks out the cold Wisconsin winter air.
Customer Review: Good for a window, probably not for exterior door Summary: 4 Stars
I have this along the windowsill of my kitchen. It does take up the entire 2 1/2" depth of the sill. The length is good for my particular window (35" wide).
The weights in the draft guard are not continuous along the length of the guard. Instead, there are 3 small sections of beans (weights) followed by sections where it is just fabric. I think this may prove to be too light for an exterior door.
If you are buying a draft guard for an exterior door, I would not recommend this product. A door that leads to a hallway (apartment or condo for example), this may be sufficient since it does have good height (approx 2 1/2"). Since the draft I am dealing with is relatively small this is sufficient for my needs.
Customer Review: Not bad Summary: 4 Stars
This product isn't half bad and does what it's supposed to do. It doesn't have as much weight to it as I would like, so sometimes it will not make a tight seal against the door. But if you are certain to press it up against the door it works just fine; you just have to keep a bit of an eye on it to make sure that nothing bumps it.
The loop on the end is quite nice, so you can hang it on a door knob or on a hook inside of your closet when it's not in use.
The fabric seems nice and it seems to be put together pretty well. Again, the major complaint is that it isn't heavier/thicker.
Customer Review: Door "snake" works well Summary: 4 Stars
The Thermwell Draft Stop fit exactly on my standard-size 36" back door. One review had said it was too light-weight, but I found that it never did move from the door crack if I placed it flush. The small weights inside kept it in place. Possibly for a very large space between the door and the floor, and very high wind drafts it might be too small and light. but it's excellent for my situation. Also the neutral color and simple non-"cute" look makes it pretty inconspicuous. Sure beats the old yellow towel I was using before.
