Tools and Hardware Reviews of Fuji Industrial Spray Equipment 3004 Q4 PRO Quiet 4-Stage HVLP Spray SystemCustomer Review: Great first HVLP unit Summary: 5 StarsI have owned this unit for over a year now and love it. I wanted a convenient and portable spray system to use in my garage and as well in customers homes. There was a learning period going from compressed air we use at my work to this system but through trial and error (and learning to spray light build coats) I feel I get just as good a finish as the shop. I purchased the smaller needle and cap set and use that to shade with and to spray water based lacquer. The industrial garden hose takes getting used to but I bought the 6' whip hose and find it to be very handy. This is an excellent HVLP system, the gun is very easy to clean and only had to change my gaskets and bleeder hose once. I would recommend getting as much information on the particular product you will be spraying either by website of web forums, and perform sample tests with every new product.
Customer Review: Great product, excellent service Summary: 5 StarsI spent a lot of time researching types of sprayers and manufacturers prior to purchasing the Q4. Reading these online reviews coupled with the discounts swayed me to purchasing this unit through Amazon.
I must say... this was a great decision. The sprayer is simple to use and has great results. Even better than that, the after purchase support was excellent. Based on the online reviews, I purchased the 6 foot flex hose and made the mistake of attaching it directly to the turbine. The turbine runs hot and the hose malfunctioned. I emailed the manufacturer at 5:00PM EST on Saturday and had an email resonse within two hours.
I have outfitted my entire shop through Amazon over the last 5 years and this is the best support I have ever received.
I recommned the product and the company.
Customer Review: Service/Technical Support is amazing Summary: 5 StarsI have used the Q4 to spray polyurethane, stain, oil-based enamel, and latex with good results. The poly and stain left very smooth finish that is superior to anything you can do with a brush. The latex and enamels are a bit more difficult to work with as one has to thin these to the right viscosity to flow well, but not too much or they run. It just seems to take some practice... If you are just doing big latex painting work like sides of houses, get an airless sprayer instead.
The controls on the gun are fantastic - you can set for hoz or vertical fan, or even a circular shape which is ideal for touch up. You can adjust paint feed rate and air flow also. All of these controls are a bit confusing at first, but once you use it for a while, you find that they allow you to really fine tune the tool to get the best finish.
The customer support is amazing! Every time I have contacted Fuji, I have gotten a prompt (< 1 day) response from the CEO himself. They have air mailed me a new cup assembly when mine had a slight defect and have provided detailed answers to many technical questions.
This is a quality tool from a quality company that stands behind their product.
Customer Review: Worth Every Penny Summary: 5 StarsIt is really great to see when a product is designed exactly to do the job it is intended for. This system is simple, strong and produces exquisite results. Moreover, it is easy and quick to clean, time after time. It is meant to be re-used day after day, and has already proven itself after a month of use.
I have only used oil-based paints (Benjamin Moore), and have thinned them by around 25%. This seems a lot to the uninitiated, but rest assured the results are superb. Spend time with some scrap wood, playing with the adjustments to get the flow and spread as you need it. Any orange peel effect, just thin it some more. Simple. Get the Quiet version - it is absolutely worth it, and the noise level resembles that of a (quiet) vacuum cleaner. My only minor gripes are the fact that the 6ft whip hose does not come standard (I have never used the standard hose - it is long, rigid and heavy) and the standard paint reservoir is alumin(i)um. When using oil based paints (especially bright white) the tarnish from the alumin(i)um ever-so-slightly can affect the paint if not rubbed absolutely clean first. Other than that, I use the mini-cups a lot (again, nice if they were standard) which are great for small jobs. Spend the money and enjoy the quality. I am very impressed and happy with this product.
Customer Review: excellent results Summary: 5 StarsInstructions are easy to follow, the machine looks and feels sturdy, a little practice on some scrap wood and the results on 5 doors was really excellant. I have only used oil based paint and when thinned out it worked very well. The paint bounce was very minor, it is easy to clean. purchase the 6' whip it's well worth it. really well pleased.
