The 6.5" is actually just short enough to fit in my lamps. I did have to bend the metal rod away to screw it in but once the bulb was screwed in, it fit and now it works like a charm.
I expected trouble but now that it's working, I can't be happier with them!

Sorry not, I'm green. Every bulb in my house is energy efficient. I couldn't belive when one eventually died! 3-way and timming are more complicated. Now I have to recycle it. Find a replacement. Make sure I recycle it.Customer Review: great bulbs!
