We puchased this product to help out my parents who had a light fixture up on the ceiling of the staircase. They also had running board lights along the staircase. They wanted to be able to turn off the overhead light and just leave the bottom lights on. But they could not reach the ceiling light on their own. So this product worked very well to allow them to remotely turn on the overhead light as needed. The problem was solved!
