I noticed the negative review for this product. The user there said that he couldn't get the receiver and remote to sync up. It might be possible that he didn't set the codes for the receiver and remote - there are several combinations so one remote can operate different receivers. For example, turn the dial one way and your remote can turn on the lamp in your living room. Turn the dial to the next code and the receiver will turn on the lamp in your bedroom. As for me, I've owned this product for a year now and it works well.
