Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gardus RLE202 LintEater 10-Piece Rotary Dryer Vent Cleaning SystemCustomer Review: Work as promised Summary: 5 Stars
Follow the DVD instruction and manual then you are golden. I have no problem cleaning out my air drier docks even when all lent seems to be wet. My dock were cloged to the point only small amount of air can pass through. Thus I think it cause the drier burner temp gage shut off heat prematurely. Clothes are drying double if not triple amount of time. And also this cause the low temperature and humid air output then later cause existing clogged lent to become wet as well thus clogged up some more. This kit clean it all OUT ~~~!!! Even with the wet and compacted lent, it has no problem to spin it loose. Due to our home construction the dryer exouse dock is locate further then 12 feet from external vent and the lent were wet. I had to use the provided vacuum adapter to SUCK on one end then repeat on the other end to clear out the whole pipe. In the end, I have successfully clear out the dryer vent without calling the costly professional dock cleaner and gotten a cudos then used it on going out watching the game with the boys in the afternoon ^_^
Customer Review: Money-saving Item Summary: 5 Stars
This dryer vent cleaner is just what I needed. It worked every bit as advertized, cleaning out caked globs of lint. Our dryer was simply not working, and this fixed that and saved money form the additional drying times. I bought the extension kit with and am very pleased with both.
The one disappointment is that the diameter of the flexible shaft is too large for my 25 year-old drill. (Newer drills evidently open wider.) This necessitates my cleaning the vent repeatedly by hand. This works, and the brush is stiff enough to clean most (after several insertions) of the lint without the spinning motion.
The product came with a shop-vac attacthment for blowing lint out. As more households have conventional vacuum hoses than shop vacs, this is a useless inclusion to me.
Local "big box" hardware stores having nothing like this in stock. I am very pleasee with the product and the vendor. This product will pay for itself in reduced drying times in due course.
Customer Review: Gardus Lint Eater System Summary: 5 Stars
Gardus RLE202 10 Pc.Dryer Vent Cleaning SystemGARDUS INC #R-3203612 12' Dry Vent Extention Kit
I recently purchased the Gardus vent cleaning system. It is an excellent tool. I have 18 feet of vent pipe to clean. The vent pipe contains three right angles. The tool navigated my vent perfectly. I used a Black and Decker 3/8 inch variable speed plug in drill to turn the brush and this gave me ample controlled power. I also purchased the extention kit because I had to clean an eighteen foot vent. My wife ran the drill and I fed the nylon tubes into the vent. We swept a large grocery bag full of lint out of the vent. We used the long brush and one rod to hand clean up inside the dryer. The vent is clean and we have cut our drying times down by two thirds. This kit is well worth the money.
Customer Review: Excellent product, works as advertised Summary: 5 Stars
I have about 20 feet of dryer vent running from my downstairs laundry room out to the opening underneath my front porch. I could tell there was no way to try and replace it, and my laundry was taking longer and longer to dry, which was a sign that it's probably getting clogged up with lint. I found this item on Amazon and decided to give it a try.
The product works absolutely great. Having a shop vac is a must though. There is an attachment that you put on one end of your vent (usually the inside access) and plug your shop vac into it (fits perfectly snug). Then on the other end of the vent, you insert the cleaning want attached to a standard drill, and continue to add attachments as needed. The brush attachment scrubs the inside of the vent and the shop vac sucks out all the lose lint. After cleaning my vent, I was curious how much lint I had removed, so I cut open my 16 gallon shop vac bag and found it about 1/2 full! Glad I did this sooner than later!
Customer Review: Brilliant Product Summary: 5 Stars
I have one word for this product, Brilliant! I used the Linteater with the 12' expansion kit to clean out my dryer vent. I used the entire 24 feet. It was easy as could be. A lot of thought has gone into this product. The vacuum adapter eliminated any mess. One word of caution. If you are cleaning out an inaccessible dryer vent line, take Linteater's advice and put a piece of duct tape on each joint so it cannot unscrew. I didn't do this, thinking that I wouldn't have any problem remembering to not reverse the drill. To disconnect each section when I was removing it from the vent, I used the method of holding the next section and reversing the drill to unscrew it. Old pea-brain forgot to reverse the drill back to clockwise direction and it unscrewed. I can't say I wasn't warned, many times. Fortunately, the last section unscrewed and I was able to re-thread it. My vent line is accessible so it wouldn't have been a catastrophe if I had to take it apart.
