Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gardus RLE202 LintEater 10-Piece Rotary Dryer Vent Cleaning SystemCustomer Review: Excellent results and very easy to use Summary: 5 Stars
Very easy to clean your own dryer vents yourself using this product, the LintEater pays for itself the first time you use it. My house is less than ten years old but I still managed to get an impressive amount of lint in my shop vac from the vents using this product. I have a 20+ foot vent hose so I also purchased the extension rods GARDUS INC #R-3203612 12' Dry Vent Extention Kit
I did have a bird's nest in my vent which I removed as much of before using this product but it seemed to handle the remaining nesting materials and lint perfectly.
PROS:
Easy to set up and use even for people who aren't the most handy of handy persons
Inexpensive-a great value
Great results
CONS:
None that I have experienced.
Customer Review: You can do it Summary: 5 Stars
My dryer was taking longer and longer to dry clothes. After my brother's neighbor's dryer caught fire, I decided it was time to clean my dryer vent. It runs up an interior wall and across the dining room ceiling, so I thought I would hire a professional that had the proper tools to do the job. They charged me $65 to clean the half that they could reach from inside the house and wanted more money to finish the job from the outside, so I politely showed them the door. The tool they were using looked just like this one. After purchasing this product, I was able to complete the job myself and was amazed at the build up of lint and birds nest that it removed. The drying time on my dryer is back to normal now. You will want to use a cordless drill with a clutch with this tool and attach a shop vac to the inside vent if you are cleaning it from the outside like I did. Good luck!
Customer Review: So easy and so effective Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this after a few months of worsening dryer performance. It turned out that the problem was impacted lint in the dryer vent. The LintEater arrived on my doorstep this morning and I tore the box right open - sad to say, I was eagerly awaiting its arrival! I looked at the instructions, watched the brief DVD then went to work. It was incredibly easy to use - the only extra step I had to do was to duct tape my regular vacuum hose onto the vacuum adapter provided, which is for a shop vac. I cleaned the dryer vent from the outside in with the vacuum sucking the lint from inside, then changed positions with my vacuum and went from the inside out. I hooked my dryer back up and voila! A heavy load of towels was dry in 1/3 to 1/2 the time that it was taking before. This is an incredibly effective, affordable, and easy to use product. I am so glad I bought it!
Customer Review: The best $30 I've ever spent!!! Summary: 5 Stars
This product is great!!!Easily the best $30 I've spent in years. I have a 20'+ long flexible metal dryer duct line that was in dire need of cleaning. I had in mind that there must be a product similar to a snake used to clean out sewer lines, well the LintEater is it! The solid reviews don't do it justice in my opinion. Before purchasing the product I was a little skeptical about the flexible rods which feed through the duct work. Would they be flexible enough to feed through the long, curvy, and mostly unsupported duct run through my attic. They absolutely were! My wife was amazed at the soggy clumps of lint that I pulled out of the ductwork. The quality of the materials was top notch and the instructions were clear and spelled out a variety of approaches that could be used. I also purchased the optional 12' extension kit so that I could reach through the entire run.
Customer Review: Ditto....on all counts Summary: 5 Stars
Honestly, I can't add much more than what you've already read, but I will... This tool just plain works as advertised. I had to clean approx 40' of vertical/horizontal dryer duct and it did an excellent job. I bought the extension pack but didn't use it because it was working so well with the included extensions I didn't want to press my luck. I needed to inspect the horizontal run through the attic and I was hoping not to have to climb up there. But to be safe I got in the attic and inspected the ductwork just to be sure. It was as clean as the dryer duct in the included DVD instructional video. This tool costs just $30+ and it had to save me hours and certainly $ on this project. I don't own a cordless drill, so it got a full-powered corded drill instead. No problem...just exercise a little caution when running it the full length.
