Customer Review: Good bulbs and a healthy conscience - 3yrs and running strong

I have been trying to green our 100 year old home for years. Bulbs like this are the easy and obvious solution. They put out decent light, but it takes a few minutes for them to reach 100% brightness. For the first 30 seconds, this bulb puts out about 1/3 of the maximum brightness. This problem gets worse in the cold weather since I use these in an unheated garage. Once the bulb has "warmed up" it produces a very nice, bright light that to me is better than a standard incandescent bulb. I used one of these bulbs in my garage for 4 years before it needed replacement. That's at least 10 times longer than the standard incancesdents could last. Factor in the energy savings, brighter output, and less time wasted changing bulbs that go into a landfill, and it's a winner. Remember to take your used fluorescent bulbs to Home Depot for free recycling!
