Tools and Hardware Reviews of Gerber 22-41432 EVO, Titanium Coated, Serrated Edge KnifeCustomer Review: Good carry knife Summary: 5 Stars
This knife is perfect for daily carry and light to moderate use. If this is what you want, then this is a great knife, especially for the price. If you want a heavy-duty or combat worthy knife straight off Batman's belt, then buy another one and expect to pay accordingly. I have other knives for backpacking and the like, mainly Kershaw knives. They are expensive and heavy, having no place in my khakis. I like this blade because it is easy to carry and reliable.
It fits securely in the pocket without taking up too much room, and is very light. Complain about the tightness of the clip all you like: it means you won't lose your knife. I've had other knives with more convenient (less tight) clips, and I've lost them all doing outrageous things like sitting in a car. This knife, however, isn't going anywhere.
Other reviewers have cited problems with stiffness of the pivot screw, making the knife difficult to open without loosening the screw, as well as having an edge that leans to one side. These were not problems for me. Mine opened with a single finger flick right out of the box. It was sharp too, for a factory blade on less than optimum steel. I used an 8000 grit whetstone to put a razor edge on it. This is a good knife. Please don't ding it because it doesn't compare to 100 dollar blades. It isn't supposed to.
A note to those who complain about chipped handle paint and cosmetic blemishes: This is a tool. If you use it, it will show signs of wear. If you want a knife to look pretty, buy a gilded piece of junk with a useless bone handle. The Tanto version of this knife does look pretty cool though. Happy shopping.
