Description of Gerber 22-80075 Recon M-CPL Military-grade Task Light
The Recon-M Task Light is a military-grade version of Gerber's innovative Recon Task Light. Now utilizing Gerber's proprietary Diode Illumination Adjustable Lens (D.I.A.L.) technology, the Recon-M Task Light lets you dial in the color that'll serve you best: white for general situations, red for preserving night vision, blue for identifying fluids, and green for map reading. With a body constructed of hard-anodized aluminum, a double o-ring seal, and a sealed circuit board, the Recon-M can take all the abuse you can throw at it and then some. well speaking as someone currently in Afghanistan this is a pretty handy little light.
Its got a good solid feel to it, but not bulky or heavy. Even better it has 4 modes all of which are just bright enough to light the way and make a clear path, but not to void light discipline and give your position away.
Pretty neat that it has a "covert" mode which seems to put an IR filter on the light which is awesome when you are using NVG's since I can just mount this puppy on my M249 and have one less piece of gear.
All in all if you are looking for a flashlight and actually have use for the settings on this one then its a great purchase.
If you are looking for a bright light and just want to brag that you have military type item then this will be a waste of money.
