I bought a Verilux lamp last year for reading at home and I have this lamp at the salon over my nail table. This lamp is 99% the same as the brand that costs twice as much. It does not have the cheapy grid like reflector to cover the bulb, but I say why spend 35.00 more to get that crappy feature. I got this for evening reading.
Pros: It provides enough light for me with only 27 watts. Heavy-duty design makes it stand very stable.
Cons: Color is not very beautiful. And shape is not very "fashion".
So, it is a good choice if you need good light for reading but not VERY care about the design.

I needed to replace a toddler size porcelain lamp in my bedroom and this plastic portable opposite is just the ticket. I don't know what a flourescent lamp has to do with sunlight. To me it is just a relief to have an easy to use lamp.
It is not a dark grey but a typical office putty color.

I am very satisfied with the price and quality of this reading lamp. The other, similar, lamps cost twice as much, if you really have too much $ to waste. This is also a good gift for students and people who read a lot. Remember too, this lamp doesnt generate heat, so it's also good to read by in summers.Customer Review: good and reasonable

It is a good product with a reasonable price (I paid $31.28). The actual height when put as the sample picture is around 14 inch, so it is good for a work desk. The cable length is about 6 feet so enough for normal use, while a previous comment complainted it was only 2.5 feet.
