This Haier Hot / Cold water dispenser is a commercial grade unit. It performs excellently. Haier's warranty process is the BEST I have ever seen!
My old Hot / Cold unit was a 6 year old GE unit. I found GE no longer made the counter-top.
First impressions:
1.Sturdy commercial grade. Dispense faucet shafts made of metal while most consumer products are plastic. Hot one has a well designed safety mechanism that keeps young children from operating it. The same safety device prevents it from locking open like the cold one.
2.On initial use the hot was VERY hot. The cold was colder than the GE unit.
3.The plastic taste reported by other reviewers was gone.
4.The heating unit was slightly noisy.
5.The cold unit has a high frequency whine when on.
First unit defective.
Returned first unit. Haier made the warranty return easy. Received new unit in excellent time. Innovative return method made the process very easy. I decided to use Haier's support vs Amazon so I could give an accurate review. Customer support quickly got a person.
1.I asked to get the new unit first so I had the packing for the old one.
2.With a credit card that was arranged.
3.Haier has a really ingenious method so you don't have to deal with heavy unit.
4.8 days and the new one was delivered.
The new one did not have the 'plastic' taste, The noisy heat cycle was reduced. The hot water evaporation problem was gone. Buyers with these issues should call Haier for replacement.
