Tools and Hardware Reviews of Live Mouse & Chipmunk TrapCustomer Review: Easy mouse removal Summary: 5 Stars
I would never use poison, but I have used a variety of supposedly lethal traps in the past with some success. But when they don't work, it's a bad situation for the maimed critter. Not to mention it's very unpleasant to have to finish off the wounded little fellow. Forget all that. This trap is easy to set up and safe to use. Make sure it has enough over-head clearance to swing shut. Check the trap at least once a day or more as necessary. And of course, make sure you drop off the passengers a long, long way from your home. For those just learning about rodent control, make sure you do some research. You will need to take action to keep rodents from getting in and take away their sources of food and water. That's the hard part. Once you've got that tackled, this trap definitely works. It comes with some mixed seed as bait. I put the bait on a dollop of peanut butter. The peanut butter is easy to stick to the trap door and smells good to the mice.
Customer Review: Chipmunks don't stand a chance Summary: 5 Stars
We had a huge family of chipmunks all around the area next to our house. They're cute, but they dig up our bulbs and cause other damage to our garden and landscaping. So they had to go. I bought this particular trap (2, actually) after reading the reviews, which were quite a bit more positive than those of competing models. We caught 9 chipmunks very quickly and a total of 11 (so far) in less than 30 days. It's clear that we got them all, because we never see any running around any more. The last two we caught had undoubtedly only just wandered into the yard for the first time. We'll keep setting the traps so as to catch more chipmunks when they first enter the area, before they can get into much mischief.
I highly recommend this product.
Customer Review: 29 down and looking for more this year Summary: 5 Stars
We have had an infestation of chipmunks in our neighborhood. They have caused our brick sidewalk to collapse three times now and have also caused problems on our patio made of brick pavers.
We had tried other traps and they didn't work. The first day this trap arrived we had 4 of the little critters. To date, we have caught 29 of them. A neighbor was having chipmunk problems too so we lent him the trap. A squirrel got into the trap and destroyed it so we have to order another. Highly recommended.
BTW we also caught a squirrel or two but we got them out before much damage was done to the trap. We use a mixture of peanut butter and bird seed for bait.
Customer Review: Looks good so far Summary: 5 Stars
While this trap was on order I actually caught the mouse with a homemade trap so I haven't actually tried it yet. However I think this trap has a great chance of success because of 2 factors. First the trap is large so I'm hoping it won't spook mice from entering. I've tried several traps where the mouse won't enter and I believe it's because these traps were too small. Second the trigger mechanism appears to be very sensitive. Large size and sensitive trigger mechanism. I think that is the key.
Update: I realized I had more mice so I set the happy trap up in the attic. Within 30 minutes I caught a mouse. Over the last few days I've caught almost 10. Works great!
Customer Review: If you don't want to kill the mouse in your house, BUY THIS. Summary: 5 Stars
We bought the Happy Trap Sr. from here on Amazon when we were invaded by a mouse family. They had even set up house-keeping in my piano (whose nest I removed by taking out one key at a time). They were small. They looked adorable from a distance. But they are not healthy to have around; and they are messy house keepers. We went to WalMart and bought 4 of their little humane traps. They didn't work. Then we ordered the one here from Amazon, sent from Maine. It works GREAT! We've caught a mouse every night since setting the trap. The mouse messers are alive and well and out in a park far away. Thank you, AMAZON, for having Happy Traps!
