Tools and Hardware Reviews of Glisten Dishwasher CleanerCustomer Review: Didn't need a repair man Summary: 5 Stars
I am so glad I found this product. I have been having problems with my dishwasher for several weeks. The water would not competely drain out of the bottom. If I didn't empty out the water competely then my dishes would have residual gunk on them. YUCK! I took apart the hoses to look for clogs etc and couldn't find any. I was finally ready to call the repair man. The week before I had looked up this product and bought it...just to clean the dishwasher. I thought I'd use it before the repair man came because it had started to smell. Much to my delight after one use...all the water was gone! It was clean and bright and empty! No need for an expensive repair man! I had my dishwasher back and it has worked great ever since! I normally do not write reviews but this product is amazing! It saved me hundreds! Not only that, but it also did what it said it would by making my dishwasher sparkle! I'd recommend it to anyone!
Customer Review: Better Than Homemade Cleaners Summary: 5 Stars
For some, running vinegar through a dishwashing cycle may be enough to clean the hard water deposits from the dishwasher's interior, but for me Glisten was a substantial improvement over the various home remedies I've tried. I live in an area of very hard water, and the spray jets in my dishwasher clog up pretty frequently. Glisten cleans everything with just one application. Before I realized it was calcium deposits clogging up the dishwasher, I'd had a repairman come out to see what was causing the dishes to stay dirty even after running them through full cycles. The repairman cleaned the entire interior by hand. The results I've had with Glisten are as good as I had after that manual cleaning. It's worth trying vinegar or lemon juice or some other low-cost remedy to see if that does an adequate job on your dishwasher. If it doesn't, then Glisten is well worth the cost.
Customer Review: The Best Dishwashing cleaner THERE IS Summary: 5 Stars
Hi I have a dishwasher over 6 years old, and it is stainless steel inside.
I have called the manufacturer to find out how to get all the dull glaze and
residue off of it because it leaves my dishes the same way a cloudy film. I have
tried all kinds for cleaning the inside until Glisten. I was amazed on how well it worked. I took all the cloudy residue and grim off. I was so pleased it lookes great the stuggle to get this thing cleaned was hard. I have tried everything mentioned on the reviews and the net for natural cleaning also.
and the few brands out there to clean the inside of the diswasher.
Thank you so much for your product now my dishwasher is looking good and my
dishes are cleaner too.
Great stuff,
Judy
Customer Review: Does the job Summary: 5 Stars
I was having terrible problems with my dishwasher as I live where the water is very hard. I was having to rewash all the dishes and thought that the dishwasher itself was the problem. I finally found this product and it did the job. My dishwasher is clean. Once I saw how well it worked, I ran all my spotty and foggy dishes, glasses, plastic and flatware with Glisten. It cleaned them right up. I have been using this for several months and it still continues to give me a good, clean wash. I put it in my dishwasher once a month. I also switched to a different dishwasher detergent. I now use Finish Powerballs for each wash. The combination of both has stopped the problem. My local appliance stores sells Glisten but at twice the price as Amazon.
Customer Review: Here's a helpful tip. Summary: 5 Stars
This product works as advertised, and as far as cleaning the dishwasher, I have nothing useful to add to existing good reviews--my dishwasher was quite clean after using this, but it wasn't all that bad to begin with.
However, my shower heads looked awful from hard water build up and iron stains, even to the point of a few holes being plugged up. So I detached them and put them into the dishwasher, too. This worked wonderfully--all holes unplugged. The stains were gone, but the finish looks good (they're plastic Rainmaker shower heads). This was certainly a lot easier than standing there trying to clean them with a pin or something similar. They came out looking brand new with no more work than detaching/reattaching them.
