Let me tell you what... I live in an area with VERY hard water. We do not have a water softener. My dishes often come out of the dishwasher very chalky and with scale. The directions say to run the DW empty but I go ahead and run a load of the chalky dishes with this treatment. It works. I can't find this stuff in local stores... you should buy several boxes to keep on hand. You only need to use it quarterly even with hard water like mine.Customer Review: Use it with your dishes, too

I had the same problems as everyone else; my dishes were cloudy as was the inside of my two-year old Bosch. First, I ran the empty dishwasher with Glisten and it looked brand new. The directions inside the box of Glisten say that it can be used when loaded with dishes. I did this next and all my cloudy dishes and glasses are sparkling clean. Glisten does make the dishwasher look better and also cleans out the mineral deposits within that reduce water pressure resulting in less clean dishes. The instructions allow glass to be in the dishwasher when using Glisten so I put in the cloudy, dirty looking glasses on my second use and it got rid of the mineral accumulation on the glasses too. I have very hard water and a dishwasher that's pretty old 10 years old and I never thought of using a cleaner or that there was a cleaner but this was amazing the inside of my dishwasher looks like new again and my dishes are so much cleaner now after using this product I will be buying more so I hope it's always available I have never seen it in any stores it is a great product.Customer Review: A great kitchen helper!

Dishwashers can get really nasty inside over a period of time. Believe me when I tell you, it works! Our older dishwasher looked almost like new inside after two cycles of Glisten. We have a new dishwasher and every few months, I use Glisten because we have hard water which can create problems in various kitchen appliances such as coffee makers and dishwashers.
