I installed this is my parents home. So far, we like it just fine!
Although the instructions state that it might not work with lighted door buttons, I have one on the back door and it does work (however, instead of ringing 1-note, it rings 2-notes). The front door rings the 8-notes as expected. Other wired door chimes, having the 8-note Westminster chime sound, are much more costly--$69.95 and up.
The style is much more decorative, fitting in with my traditional decor, since the doorbell wiring is in a formal dining room. (Other styles were eyesores and much more modern in styling). It can stand on its own or be useful for a small shelf. It can be painted to camouflage with the wall coloring. While it is plastic, it appears to be like a plaster or painted wood design.
It was easy to install.
