Customer Review: Great Product & Works Better Than Advertised

I live in New England and my front door is North facing. Nothing I have tried has helped with the snow and ice buildup on the roof from dripping on my front steps & entry. My front steps and landing are masonry and brick so it is impossible to treat them with ice melt products. I tried using kitty litter or just plain sand but just ended up with a mess. A few years ago I took a header on the steps a couple of people almost took falls. I gave in to applying some liquid ice melt that was supposed to be harmless to masonry but it ate the mortar between the bricks. I can't imagine if I used rock salt. After having the steps repaired ($1,800) I purchased the Heattrak three pack of stair treads and a couple of 2X3 door mats. I run them all off a 50' extension cord from the garage and they work like a charm. I just plug the extension in when I need them. Also there is a GFI on every unit that can be used as a on and off switch. I have had the GFI units & plugs covered with melting snow and never had a problem. This is my third year using them and I couldn't be more pleased. My son just bought a house with a North facing entry and I came on the site to order he and his wife a set. Great product. I have one hint. When stepping on the treads and mats don't drag your feet because under a few conditions the tread can move a little. If you lift your feet and walk & step like you're supposed to your good to go. My wife doesn't like the look but it's better than broken bones or a lawsuit.
