Description of Duck 1.88-Inch-by-60-Yard All-Purpose Duct Tape, GrayThe Henkel Duck all-purpose "Duck" tape is Henkel's original Duck-brand duct tape. This silver-colored tape is perfect for countless repairs around the home, school, or office, both indoors and outdoors. Its Dura Bond construction uses a thick, heavy-duty adhesive applied to a waterproof cloth backing for extra durability and to resist delamination in direct sunlight. The tape adhesive features a high initial tack, and it readily conforms to uneven surfaces for maximum adhesion. The cloth outer layer is also reinforced with cloth mesh for extra tensile strength, yet it tears easily without curling, making one-handed application possible. The tape comes in a 1.88-inch-by-45-yard roll.
Tools and Hardware Reviews of Duck 1.88-Inch-by-60-Yard All-Purpose Duct Tape, GrayCustomer Review: A PRODUCT THAT IS HOLDING OUR CIVILIZATION TOGETHER. What would we (I) do without it! Summary: 5 StarsCell phones, Blackberries, the personal computer, VCRs, Viagra, superglue, Penicillin, the combustion engine...these and a myriad of other inventions and innovations have made an impact on my life; for the most part all positive. There is one product though, almost invisible and so common that it is taken completely for granted by most that has probably added to the quality of my life more than any other product I can think of. Yes, we are talking about the lowly Duct or Duck Tape! I am not really sure I could function without the stuff.
The uses of this innovative product are legendary. I go into very few homes, offices, business, shops, barns, vehicles or attend few events such as sporting, musical, plays, or meetings where there is not some evidence of Duck Tape use if I look closely and snoop around. In my own case I keep rolls of this product in the house, in all of our vehicles, my barn, workshop, shed and office. I never go camping, hiking, canoeing, skiing, boating or birding without it; just a quick look around the house, office, shop and outbuildings last evening revealing the extent of its use in my little world.
Patched garden hoses, temporary calking around a screen door, large numbers of books; torn and cracked at the spine held together, a cracked laptop computer top, a hole in a screen temporarily repaired, a golf club not repaired but improved, two gun stocks stabilized, several "temporary" repairs on leaking pipes in our plumbing, various tools temporarily repaired, some minor quick fixes on all of our cars, bicycles with tape all over them, a heavy punching/kicking bag that has been given a new lease of life via Duct Tape repair, fishing rods repaired, one old work table in my office complexly held together with the stuff, school binders repaired, four pairs of old boots and six pair of running shoes with shinny gray patches, numerous quick fixes on our central air and heating system, biking and heavy bag gloves repaired, a birdfeeder with a tape adjustment on its corners, numerous flower pots and planting trays given a new lease on life, numerous garden tools and shop tools with silver/gray vestiges showing, lawn mowers and tillers ......and the list goes on. This was all identified in less than an hour.
I have on three occasions made temporary repair on rivers of canoes; leaking and with punches holes in them that allowed us to complete our trip. I used this medical wonder to apply a pressure bandage using an old tee shirt to a friends leg that ran afoul of a chain saw which probably did not save his life but it certainly saved the seat of my truck from getting blood all over it, and more than once have used torn shirts and this tape to cover blisters while canoeing...makes a wonderful protective glove. I cannot even remember how many temporary shelters in the woods, desert and mountains I have constructed with Duck tape and this does not even count the quick birding and photographing blinds I have slapped together within minutes. I even use it on two of my stupid tripods I am too cheap to replace.
This product is strong. It sticks where you want it to stick. It is water proof. It is easy to use and it is oh so versatile! Now I will grant you that many of my repairs and quick fixes look sort of tacky at times. To be honest though, I have long since passed the point where I give great concern as to what people think as to how I or anything I own look. People have long teased me (I think it is teasing) for being quite similar to Red Green...I wear the same type of clothing, suspenders and all, am bearded and extremely sarcastic...in a nice way, of course. Let me tell you though, when it comes to the use of Duck Tape, I make Mr. Green look like a rank armature and complete piker.
The price here is quite good. I buy this stuff in packages of multiple rolls and this package fits my needs perfectly. I can truly say that the world would be worse place to live without this wonderful stuff. I know my life would be much more difficult anyway! I do recommend this product highly.
