Tools and Hardware Reviews of Holmes HAOF-90UC 10-Inch 3-Speed Blizzard Table FanCustomer Review: well if finally broke Summary: 5 Stars
We've used this fan every summer since 2001 and it finally died this month. Im sad to see it go.
Customer Review: Nice fan! Summary: 5 Stars
Decent value for the money. This replaced my old "Blizzard" fan that lasted for 8 years.
Customer Review: Great Little Fan Summary: 5 Stars
Fan is great, and as expected. Works well, while not being terribly loud.
Customer Review: Fantastic Summary: 4 Stars
I bought the latest model, which has a thermostat in it's base. It has an electronic, single push-button thermostat that can be set at 60, 65, 70, 75, or 80 room temp. Has green lights under each temp setting, and red lights for high and low. Thermostat is very accurate! You can use low speed with thermostat, high speed with thermostat, or just low and high speed always on. This fan is small, un-obtrusive, and has oscillation and tilt. I have used this fan for 2 nights now, and it's great for the bedroom. You select your temp, set it on low, and forget it. If your room falls below temp selected, it turns off. If it warms up again, it comes back on! Moves lots of air on low! High speed is not for sleeping! Quite a bit of wind sound on high. Low speed will cool a 14' x 16' living room. Fan is quiet on low speed.
Customer Review: Here's the long and short of it. Summary: 4 Stars
The fan is GREAT! It is powerful, and really moves the air. I bought one for my cubicle at work against the other recommendations. It is a little loud, but not a nuisance on the low setting (which still moves the air quite adequately). If it is turned on to medium or high, it's just too noisy for a cubicle. For an office with a door, it may be just fine. If you're in a cubicle in a relatively quiet office, run it on low, and you'll be just fine.
The footprint for the fan is quite large. The base is ~20cm width and ~25cm deep. So, unless you plan to mount it to a wall, make sure you have room on your desk. You may also want to purchase paper weights... ;)
