Customer Review: Great Buy for a Dry Climate Area, Low RH

I live in San Diego and it can get very dry during "Santa Ana" conditions. The winds shift direction and the normal cool moist ocean breezes stop. It gets really dry. The RH levels easily drop to single digits during the day or the teens. The nights are so dry there is little moisture in the air, the grass has no dew and the cars on the streets are dry in the morning instead of wet. I live 8 miles from the ocean, so you get the idea, it's dry when normally it's much wetter.
I don't need this humidifier all the time, only when it gets really dry outside
The bedroom is upstairs and has french doors to open at night and let in a cool breeze. Usually that is enough for humidity as well. Unless it is a "Santa Ana" condition. I was waking up a couple of times in the night, and very thirsty
I use this humidifier in the bedroom on the highest setting and it really kicks out the vapor.
Now, it's much better to sleep after using the humidifier. The RH meter in the bedroom has been in the 20% range without using the humidifier. By morning the meter reads in the high 40% after using it all night
Room placement is very important. Watch the vapor trail and place it accordingly to your needs. I suggest keeping it closer to where you will be rather than the opposite side of the room for the best results. I have it by the bed on a stand about 4 feet away.
Use a full tank of water, on high it lasts about 12 hours, it lasts longer on a lower setting.
It's really quiet, no sleeping noise troubles
It does not fit under a normal sink, fill it from the tub instead.
Keep it clean and dry when not in use, do not let water stand in the tank to prevent icky water and mold
